I think calve is unlikely since a singular baby cow is a calf and you'd use calve in the sense that you have calves or your cows are calving

Took me 6 tries, too! I had VALVE, SALVE, then HALVE for my final three guesses. Looking at the list the bot suggested when you were putting in your guesses. Why LAVES, HALSE, and VALSE?? Are those "common" words??? I think not!

The bot suggests accepted words with letters that will help the most to narrow down the answer. It doesn’t anticipate that those words are answers, just that they’ll statistically provide the most information to get to the answer.
