So, any particular reason why this ..umm.. "spiritual dancer" while making his entrance, COMPLETELY ignores Rani and touches (pays homage to) the dhols held by the MEN on either side of her instead???? Disgusting. An insult to all three excellent dhol performers. Rani would do well to stay away from religious gatherings altogether.

Fashion Earrings That's a huuuuge assumption you're making. The first baseless assumption is that you assume he kept some space between him and Rani because of disrespect. In Pakistan, respect toward women is given by KEEPING DISTANCE and not touching. It's possible that he did give her dhol a small touch at 3:18 , where you see him turning toward her briefly (where's the complete ignoring again?). Again, the more likely explanation is that he gave her respect as a woman by minimizing contact. As he is a Sufi, this concept of showing respect by minimal contact is also relevant. This video shows a wonderful opportunity of musicians of different backgrounds playing together, and you jump quickly to urging her to "Stay away" from all religious people altogether. That is NOT how you bring people together and achieve harmony.

Again, at 3:18, when he is standing in front of her, it is possible that he did touch her dhol and do that. We cannot see at that point whether or not he did or did not, as his back is facing the camera directly as he faces her. Either way, I don't see Rani Taj mentioning any disrespect happening to her. You can continue to call this whole video painful, all for that one second of video where it is unclear whether he touches her dhol. Or, you could enjoy and admire Rani Taj and the other musicians as they jam together and a dude spins around!

Why the Dickens would Rani say anything? As a woman in this particular set up, she knows "her place"! (That's the point isn't it? Women knowing their place) Even YOU are unclear about your so called may or may not situation. In any case I enjoy Rani Taj that's exact;y why I came here in anticipation of a good jamming session.
