Hello Shreya, many thanks. For mains, as I have shared, I preferred quality over quantity. My answers were to the point, mostly marked with bullet points, underlining the important portions. In substantive law papers I relied on illustrations and case laws to support my answer. 15 marks - 3/4 case laws, 10 marks - 2 case laws and 5 marks - 1 or no case laws. For procedural law, I did not apply case laws unnecessarily, only wherever it was very essential I have used them. Also I have tried to finish the 10/15 marks answers with a conclusion. So these are the points I feel would be useful. All the best 👍

Yes Medha, history and GS questions are there in your GK, CA paper Group A. But also keep in mind questions do come from Polity, International Relations as well. Look for relevant topics going on in India and world in the last 5-6 months. Those are very important 👍 Best wishes

Bengali/hindi/urdu/nepali/santhali is a compulsory language paper. You have to choose any one of them and there shall be a 100 marks mains exam of that subject. It is not an optional paper, it is a compulsory mains paper, where you get to choose any one from the above mentioned options. In Language paper(irrespective of what language you choose), questions will come from translation, editorial letter writing, dialogue writing, essay, comprehension, grammar(sondhi, somash, biporitarthok, somarthok shobdo), and vab somprosaron. Yes absolutely. Do follow the syllabus which is provided in the advertisement, there it shall be clearly mentioned. Even if it is not mentioned, I would suggest preparing the new criminal laws for upcoming WBJS exams 👍

Yes there is syllabus for prelims as well. 1. English Composition 30 marks 2. General Knowledge, Current Affairs and Test of Reasoning 40 marks 3. Indian Constitution 20 marks 4. Law of Contracts and Torts 20 marks 5. Laws of Evidence 20 marks 6. Civil Procedure Codes 20 marks 7. Criminal Procedure Code and Indian Penal Code 20 marks 8. Personal Law 10 marks 9. Law of Limitation 20 marks Syllabus for Preliminary Examination : Questions on English Composition will cover synonyms, antonyms, idioms and phrases, vocabulary test, phrasal verbs, the same words bearing more than one meaning, use of appropriate and qualifying words etc.

Not at all. You can choose hindi/urdu/nepali for the mains if you are not comfortable in Bengali. But basic Bengali reading, writing and speaking ability is needed for that shall be checked in your personality test. Best wishes

There is no specific word limit here in WBJS. Remember you have to be crisp and there is no need to stretch your answers to fill up pages. Writing in points, adding illustration and case laws(wherever applicable) to substantiate your answer would be enough.

Honestly I do not think there are any passing marks for the interview. Also to answer the first part of your question, I have always mentioned that mains is the actual target, one must try to score as much as possible in mains. Then the worry for the interview would be much less. But nevertheless, the interview is also very important.

Yes Juwel you can start preparing from 5th sem. But if you’re a 5 year course student then your perfect time to start preparations should be 8th sem onwards, since by that time you would have covered Evidence Act, Crpc, cpc, tpa. All the best to you 👍

No such rules are there as of now with regard to compulsory practice. You need to have valid LLB degree and State Bar Council’s registration(enrollment) as Advocate.

No need to make notes for each paper, if you do not get that much time then you can start preparing by reading the bare act and the reference book. I would suggest only 1 reference book per subject. Go through the previous year questions if any specific question or topic requires then you can prepare a comprehensive answer in the form of notes. But if you have ample time then you can prepare notes per subject. You can see the previous year questions for a pattern and prepare accordingly. Do not prepare notes for specific questions, but prepare for each topics, then even if they change the question pattern you would still be able to answer any question from those topics. Hi Sunita, I tried to give mock exams myself and prepared last 12-15 years papers and wrote them down in 3 hrs time at my home. There are many same or similar questions from the previous years, thus every time I wrote a same or similar answer I could myself understand which one I have written better, with better intro, conclusion and body. This is a trick you can use, try to solve as many mock mains papers as possible, which will give you the confidence. Hope this helps 👍

See there is no individual subject wise cutoff marks as they are never disclosed by the PSC. You have to consider each and every paper with equal importance, since total 1100 marks in mains and 100 marks in interview determine your selection. So try to improve your Bengali writing abilities, go through the previous year questions and practice much. Giving equal importance to language paper as much as law papers is the key 😊👍

Hi Anirban, some people do say that just bare acts are enough. But my suggestion would be certainly bare acts(minutely), plus the reference books in certain topics and solving one prelims books atleast( Universals guide would be my suggestion). Hope this helps 👍

Daily strategy was to try to cover 2-3 subjects. I used to prepare for mains and prelims at the same time. Like I studied 12-14 hrs daily where I used to devote 1-2 hrs daily for MCQ solving. I also had kept 1-2 hr each day for language and GK papers. I used to give mock tests within 3 hrs time, myself as I had no teacher/tuitions. These are some day to day basis tips which you can follow. My best wishes 👍

Hello Lipika. As per the First Judicial Pay Commission, the basic is Rs. 27,700/- plus the other allowances like DA, TA, HRA etc, the total salary in hand is pretty lucrative and worth the hard work you put in while preparing 😊 All the best 👍

Yes absolutely you can. You just need to be enrolled as an Advocate from your state Bar Council. Since you are from Odisha, you must start learning Bengali if it is not your mother tongue. Best wishes 👍

Hi Avishek, I don't think there is any such preferences. As there are freshers also who have been selected by the interview board into the Judicial Service. But yeah I can assure you that if you are a practicing advocate then you must be ready to face questions from your area of practice by the Interview Board.

Nahi mandatory nai hai, you can choose from bengali/hindi/urdu/nepali/santhali for mains. Lekin agar apka mothertongue bengali nahi hua then aapko interview mein bengali reading and writing pucha jayega. So prepare accordingly.

In this journey you are bound feel demotivated sometimes, but you must understand and remind yourself constantly the struggle you have gone through, the hope your family and parents have from you, the reason why you chose to join the coveted Judicial Services, and then I am sure you will definitely feel motivated. I used to apply this strategy. I also used to listen to motivational songs and see some motivational videos. My family and closed one's helped me alot. It is a cumulative process where there shall be ups and downs, but always remember where there is will, there is a way. Hope it helps. All the best 😊🙏

@@SitaRaam2819 Although bare acts are important but still you would require a reference book per subject for better clarity in your answers. For procedural laws divide them into chapters and read accordingly. It will help you save time. For substantive laws prefer relevant illustrations with your answers to substantiate it. Going through previous year question papers would bear fruits to understand the pattern and prepare accordingly. This is what I can say briefly, there are several interviews of mine, you can check them for a better idea. Hope it helps 🙏👍
