It's been a while since I've played MGS V so I've forgotten many of the game mechanics. I do remember that how far staff can upgrade depends on how high up they are to begin with. I'll pin this and see if anyone currently playing has more insight for you.

I don’t recommend this for soldiers that are below S+ rank else you’d just be wasting ur time, an A rank unit with 3 medals would end up getting replaced by an S rank unit with no medals

@@pablog833 yeah but when you have direct contact women they don't get replaced and with low stats you wanna level em up just cause . Now that online is gone I don't think you'll ever see another S+ woman again tho 😢

@@TommTooTone Dunno if you consider this cheating but if you go into FOB missions, and then the security challenge there are often "harem" FOBs that are only women that are all S or better, its ofc hard to actually win the FOB infiltration but thats a source

The only way I know is to build up your FOB and add higher ranking staff. I haven't played this game in a while, but I think that is the answer. I've pinned this comment in case anyone might have other suggestions. Hope this helps, and thanks for dropping a comment.

1: tried to complete main missions in S rank, when you do that the game will reward you with Soldiers with high rank 2: when you're in the battlefield try to use your binoculars and look at the soldiers, you might see some pretty good Soldiers with some really high ranks 3: over here on KZbin there's a video about a glitch that allows you to easily Farm female soldiers with some really good high rank ( through that you might get I really high rank R and D female Soldier) here's a link to the video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6Wnl6CQbrh7rdU 4: try to maximize your base facility R and D, that's going to help, you're going to get more space to get more soldiers This is how l get a lot of R&D and other things in general, I hope this helps

Try to increase heroism and mother base level. The higher your heroism, the more people will be volunteer, and the more likely they will be high ranked (I am currently at 250,000 heroism). Also, the higher your motherbase level (sum of all unit's level), the more likely you will find A++ and S rank soldiers. Hope this helps!

How far are you in the story. I haven't played this game in a while, but if I remember correctly, some areas only become available after you've progressed in the game. You can still use everything else in the video in a different zone. That one is just the quickest and safest.

​@@jimmy2jacketsgaming just a follow up tip if you put six members in R&D and then replay the motherbase takeover mission which I believe is mission 22 when you complete it those six members will gain a medal. As those are the only six staff in R&D at the time the game sets them as the hostages

I'll be honest, I haven't played this game in sometime. All I can say for sure is that it works with the mission in the video. I picked it because it's one the faster ones, so the rinse wash repeat is a little easier.

Also I haven't played for awhile and seeing this video triggered the itch. now that online is gone I come back to missing staff and only 300 staff like holy shyt just rob me of 1000 staff wtf Konami! It's a good thing I didn't put my S++ women on the fob 😌 eh I'm sure there's other ways to get S++ from the offline(NOT) 100% Still worth playing in 2024.

It's the best stealth game, in my opinion. I put a few of these vids together just to practice editing. They sat there for almost a year before they took off. By then, I was pretty much burned out on MGS V. But I agree, it's still an amazing game. It's too bad they stopped supporting it. I'll probably come back to it someday. I'm glad people are still enjoying and getting something out of the vids. (P.S. The music is such an integral part of the game for me, I can't imagine playing without it. Unfortunately, I can't use any of it in videos or streams. But I would defiantly encourage people to play it on their own.)

Next time you get on You gotta try staff member with savage skill bcuz the way you can use weapons and always have the 👊 is enough to rival snakes infinity bandana. Also with savage and the cyborg suit it's pretty hilarious punching dudes at mach 2😆

I've never played on-line. I'm having a hell of a time leveling up past lvl 60 at %80 complete. I noticed your bases were over level 100, can you get that not playing On-line? I feel stuck in limbo no matter how man S people I get it's not leveling up anymore. Only have a handful of weapons that are lvl 6, most are at lvl 5, and as I've said it seems like I'm stuck there not getting anymore, my heroism is almost 400K also.

It is a very good game I've come back and started a new file with a few times over the 7 years it's been out. I even have the day one edition! Too bad I've never made a Playstation account therefore never playing On-line and missing out on all the extra downloadable content.

@tappytibbon927 It's no problem. I like to try and respond to everyone when I can. I took a look, and I think your suspicions are correct. I have all the security features upgraded as far as they can go, and you can't upgrade them if you're offline. It is a great game. I played it to death when I first got it. If you haven't tried Death Stranding, you should. Same creator. A ton of cinematics and it stars Norman Reedus from Walking Dead fame.

@@jimmy2jacketsgaming Thanks man! I have been online and got some updates, I'm on version 1.10, but have never played online or ever done any fob missions. That really sucks then, if you're not online I don't think one is able to get weapon upgrades past lvl 6? This is my experience anyway.

It might be a patch. The method should still work, just ignore the direct contract. The only reason I was doing it was to make it easier to find the staff when you're going to select them for the mission. If you jot down the name or just remember it, you can do the same thing without using the direct contract.

It will work for any unit. You just have to temporarily put them under combat to run the mission. Then you can return them to development.

Can u manually level up staff to max(all skills S++)? I’m leveling my lower level staff rn & they seem to not level past a certain point?

Yeah, there is a limit on how much you can manually rank them up. The 2 quickest ways to get S++ is to raid FOBs and steal them from other players, which I only recommend if you really love pvp because they will retaliate and you could find yourself in a never-ending battle. The better way is to participate in virtual battles. There are daily and weekly battles that allow you to build points you can spend to buy a variety of things. One of them being S++ staff.

Basically, if you have any staff you want to rank up, put them in the combat unit so you can use them for the combat mission I showed in the video. After running the mission several times, that staff member will rank up. You can do this with any mission in the game, but this mission is the quickest to repeat, so it takes less time.
