Burning abyss Earthbound with Malefic Stardust, using Chaos Zone as a Field spell. basically play BA until you have a FS, EI, and MSD in the hand, activate Chaos Zone, tribute 2 BA's, summon an Immortal, then banish a Stardust dragon from your extra deck. 2 big bosses, potential for decent combos, your opponent would have to attack Malefic Stardust, so just use a Messenger of Peace for 2450 or less atk. bricks like hell when you open with 5 immortals, and draw a 6th immortal.

I think splashing Level 7-10s with 2400+ ATK with relative ease outranks the LOTW decks, even with the restrictions. They're awful, but it could be worse.

Honestly, Malefics have a fair bit of success in the whole "splash them into other archetypes as easy big beaters" strategy. Cyber End is obvious, but he talks about Stardust as well. And though he doesn't mention the others as much, Blue-Eyes and Red-Eyes got run in Rank 7 and 8-focused decks back in the day as easy fodder. Malefics are only outright awful if you try to make a dedicated build around them, because the cards actively get in each other's way. I remember he mentioned that he was reluctant to do Guardians, specifically because he didn't feel like they were ever designed to be run as a dedicated archetypal build, and called out Earthbound Immortals as an archetype consisting of boss monsters meant for use in different decks. And I think Malefics are in about the same category; they were seemingly designed to work as big one-off beatsticks rather than the majority of cards in your deck.

I remember when Malefics used to be a really decent anti meta deck back in the day. Skill drain, beast king, malefic cyber ends, macro cosmos, d fissures, and other crap made the deck high key a force to be reckoned with

There's definitely room for improvement with Malefics. - Send the Main Deck monsters from your hand/Deck to the Graveyard (similar to the movie), or banish them from your hand/Deck. - Release the remaining support cards from the movie. - Give Cyber End and Rainbow their additional movie effects. - Rework the Field Spell so people would WANT to play it. - Remove the "only 1 Malefic Monster" effect. - More Malefic monsters - A win condition Feel free to add more suggestions everyone. Also, PLEASE cover Red-Eyes at some point, Rata. I'm eager to hear your thoughts on the archetype.

Maybe if they retrained all the malefics, you could give malefic blue eyes and malefic red eyes effects akin to archetypal support cards for their respective non-malefic archetypes. For example: Malefic Red Eyes Black Dragon - Infernal Drake: When this card is special summoned, you can discard 1 "malefic" monster to draw 2 cards, then put 1 non-"malefic" monster from your graveyard or 1 banished non-"malefic" monster on the bottom of your deck. Malefic Blue Eyes White Dragon - Spirit Dragon: During your end phase, you can tribute this card, special summon 1 "malefic" monster from your graveyard or 1 non-"malefic" fusion or synchro monster from your extra deck in defense position, ignoring their summoning conditions

They tried to make Malefic monsters more generic, at the cost of making them literal garbage as a standalone Deck. Also, they improved World by a lot, which is kinda sad.

I remember making a Malefic Earthbound Immortal deck in Over the Nexus. It was for turbo duels, so there was always a field spell, which fixed both archetypes' biggest weakness, and the Malefics had more use as Tribute fodder or for Hardened Armed Dragon. I remember being super proud of coming up with that. Maybe if we get some decent way to protect field spells I'll revisit it.

I always liked malefics, there was always something really satisfying to me about disregarding things like field presence, swarming, or combos, and just saying Heres a 4k beatstick. I like to combo them with kaiju's because waterfront is a really tenacious field spell and by them I mean pretty much just malefic cyber end dragon. Utopia lightning kinda put a damper on that feeling, but I still have pretty fond memories of skill drain and cyber end dragon wrecking fools in early train decks. It really wouldn't take much to make malefics sorta playable. the upside to a deck full of giant stat monsters is that they only really need enough support to hit once.

One of my favorite deck building experiments was to combine Malefics with the Earthbound Immortals (with a dash of Ancient Gear Dragon). While not perfect, it did have surprising results.

Important to note Mound of the Bound Creator prevents Malefic Paradox Dragon from committing sudoku.
