@@wickederebus That's... tough to explain, and requires familiarity with cultural aspects that I don't sufficiently have. I'll try, though? Leaving aside the debate of whether scalie technically counts as furry, there's actually a surprising lack of overlap between the two communities, and a sort of significant set of differences in the broad trends of how the communities act. There are of course people who like both, but they tend to be people so far gone that they like most anything. So, from an outsider perspective, they seem like much the same group, but there's a number of cultural differences between them, and not much overlap outside of extreme people or unusual cases, where a design straddles the line between fur and scale. All of this is observational data. If anyone has any firsthand information to correct me, then by all means do so.

@@wickederebus Oh, yes, correct, I guess it was bold of me to assume that everyone knows the terms are intended for people who fetishize varying degrees of anthropomorphized animals. The terms do not account for the difference in people who are simply attracted to such designs, and those who, for some reason, believe they are better represented by such a form. The cultural underpinnings behind the terms are more significant for the purposes of identifying the difference in meaning to me, even though the main difference is what kind of external surface the person prefers. Though I didn't know it extended to other varieties of surfaces. I wonder if Mucous Membranies, Featheries, Exoskeletallies, and Shellies are things? Cellulosies? Feather Filamenties? Or would plants be outside of animal classifications? I mean, I know groups that like those things exist, I just wonder if they have general trends and differences the ways Furries and Scalies do.

There's still room for DM era icons like Kuriboh and Jinzo. I think they dodge archetype cards unless they have a clear central card. Toon Armed Dragon, Cyber Blader, Water Dragon, Rainbow Dragon, Neos, Yubel, and Honest could be a good choice to get back into GX ones.

Just think. Someone drew Deep of Blue Eyes, looked it over, and nodded to themselves. They then presented it to a roomful of people, who also looked at it, and then agreed that this is the image Blue Eyes needs with zero editing. You just know that archetypes like Blue Eyes are getting more scrutiny, too. So this was 100% deliberate. It really makes me FEEL like Kaiba.

The funny thing is, when I found that fountain bird I was actually going to use the top two birds looking with big eyes for a meme. But when I zoomed in I saw that one bird taking a bath in chocolate and said, "Wait did Rata have something like that in his Madolche Video?"
