Tremendous leather Homage listing,you called upon some stunning and so important examples for us all ,very impressive Rams ,looking forward to the 🐏 🦆 live got some solid splash bottles coming soon ,yeah splash I prefer spray for sure,however I feel after loosing 2 vintage bottles transit I feel that on long high altitude flights that old atomizer spray mechanisms can act as a syphon and drain a bottle especially if full ?? Just my observations because it happened 3 times all on fuller bottles but never on newer modern bottles ,so yeah there’s that, splash bottles all arrive perfect to me cheers Rams catch ya later 🙏✌️👍

I just love leather in all it's presentations, sort of gives me a spring in my step. Gives me an Alpha Male kind of vibe...is that a more PC way of saying pantydropper?? Seriously though I have always been drawn to leather scents for how they make me feel and they just work on me. Often drew a reaction from female colleagues to remark how nice I smelt. Original version of Helmut Lang Pfhtt was my signature at the beginning of this millennia. Reminded me of the Italian leather fragrances I wore way back. You pulled some beauties out for this, I've just counted.. I have or have worn 25 from this list, confirms my love for leather!

Ted Lapidus 1978. I love getting the gift sets with box. You have a good chance the the bottle stayed in the box, and just sat in some closet. I got lucky with my gift set of Aramis. The splashes are in great shape. Oscar's Pour Loui , Antaues, no. I have the brand new, which has gotten better since the bottle opened up, mid an a 89* bottle. I never associated the two.

I bought a minature Bel Ami vintage and the current version, Jesus it is sad what they did to it, ignorance is bliss indeed, now I empirically know that to have any good castoreum leather or leather chypre I need to throw big money on vintage+shipping 😢😢

Ramsey, Shalom! I'm a subscriber & I'm just now watching your list, which is always great. You mentioned wondering of the change in bottles from the Mona D'Orio revealed a reformulation. From what I've been told the answer is yes. I myself have the cuir bottle in the red box presentation and I owned at one time the new bottle shown in your list. I can say in my humble opinion that the 100KM red box was far better. The new bottle smelled like sewer water, at least my bottle did & that was a complaint from others as well. I currently own 3 originals from the brand that I enjoy(* Vetyver, Eau Absolu, & Cuir). Would love to own the vanilla! Thanks again! A2!

Had the car MOT'ed today. The Man that did it is called Steve and he had on a one dimensional synthetic fragrance and I thought to my self you wouldn't catch me wearing that. I had on 4 shots of Patou, oh man it was so complex...Whiskey, Tobacco, Leather, Spices in the center, Hot pepper, and a green woody smell all going on at the same time. You start to realize what's happened to todays perfume. A lot of it is just rubbish, this never happened in the 80's and 90's, it was all good. I would ask the lady in the store what's the latest thing out, we always moved forward

Maybe I'm insane but Bel Ami on the skin strangely reminds me of Egoiste out of all things, non-sweet, mossy-leathery version of Egoiste, although they have very little listed notes in common. Maybe I have a stroke or something, I need to buy new decant of Egoiste to compare it.

Fun fact. . Roja created Puredistance M, and he loved it so much, that he created fetish. After he created fetish, Puredistance Said: we do not want to have anything to do with you anymore uncle Roja 😂 I have M and i love it as Well. . I have the Bel Ami 1986 batch on the Way also. Hey Ramsey. Could u help me find out when Polo started putting the cover over the atomizer instead of being able to see the crimped seal of the atomizer. I would think a Warner version wouldnt have that sleeve on the atomizer to make the cap stay snug ? Very interesting. Warner /Lauren was the first formula or Just Warner? Cosmair formula was late 80s and Luxury products version is from sometime after 2002 ?

@@RamseytheRam Ahh yes. The great and powerful Anooj will have the knowledge I'm sure. Speaking of Anooj I went to the site and found Polo for sale but no indication on the Formula. I have a three 2 oz with the distributor being in Canada. Cosmair distributor out of Montreal Canada and they all have the sleeves. I've dated them pre year 2000 to right before the Luxury products reformulation which I think happened around 2002. I don't know if that's 100 % but it's close.

Reflecting on it, I would have to say that leather is one of my favourite notes of all time - probably in my top 3. I'd give almost anything to smell Chanel's vintage Cuir de Russie as well as Bel Ami! At least I can take comfort in the fact that I am now the proud owner of a full 100ml 1989 'Eagle' Derby. This is, without question, the most refined, smoothest leather I've ever put my nose on. I plan on savoring this for the rest of my life!

I really want to smell what oud is but don't know where to start. I love strong fragrances and as a 17 year old kid I probably had 20 bottles of Polo green and Crest and was my introduction into frags. And they were all stolen during a move. My Mother worked for a fragrance distributor. I remember loving Polo and alot of the other Polos or Ralph Lauren colognes and as a kid was loyal to the house of Ralph Lauren.

I would start with Bortnikoff Oud Maximus 2020... You can buy small samples from lucky scent for not a lot of money to determine if you wabt to invest in a full bottle... also keep an eye out of the Areej Le Doré website 😁

I trust you on this one - Which amazing leather fragrances would you recommend that can work great on hotter seasons (and therefore easier to pull out for me), not super dense, not dated, possibly fresher/woody/floral/chypre touch, masculine, that is appealing and not super devisiive, and one that do no SHOUT but with presence? I REALLY loved roja's great britain, I would say its easily my #1 of the few leather fragrances I managed to smell, and I think it would smell great on hotter seasons (1 spray) but its price is a bit steep. I also really like 1740, but its very dense, very heavy, maybe too much "old" feel and for winter only. I also tried La Yuqawam which I did not like at all. was too much bland raspberry and leather without a character. Smelled more like furniture than a perfum in my opinion. only I was surprised to see Great Britain only at #10. I wonder if there is leather fragrance I would love more than Great Britain.

Well my favorite "summer" leather fragrance to wear for me personally is Guerlain Habit Rouge... but you could try cuir cannage if you really love Great Britain as mucb as I do 😊

Please Mister I have current formulation of Yatagan and Cosmair edition of Polo Green. Please tell me about Hermes Bel Ami and Ted Lapidus Pour Homme 1978. Does Ted Lapidus have something in common with Yatagan? Or Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve maybe? Cosmair Polo is the best one for me. It has birch tar. It's oilish smoky leather. I like that moment. What do u think about ferragamo as far as leather fragrance? I’ve got a small travel 30mL bottle of bright leather and I luv it I’m also a fan of banana republic 83 leather reserve it’s much more dry but it has this freshness to it where it makes wearing it in the heat so much easier I’ve been surprised by a lot of the banana republic fragrances and ferragamo as well bc they are so inexpensive

@@RamseytheRam thanks. I'm looking to get a bottle of it but reading thru some of the reviews of fragrantica and a theme there is that it's a skin scent after an hour but it does last like 7 hours but 6 of those hours are a skin scent while only projecting the first hour.

I would try and hunt down either the OG Shaker bottle or the first reform... although I would say if you want a modern Hermes go for Bel Ami Vetiver... one of the greatest flankers of all time 🤌🤌🤌

What would be the closest niche perfume to vintage Chanel Antaeus? I can't find the vintage and the new formula while it's ok it just doesn't do it for me so can you suggest any niche fragrances as an alternative to vintage Chanel Antaeus?

Unfortunately there is nothing that comes close.. there are bits of it in other fragrances... like for example Eugene from the Channel U Smells good just released his first fragrance the Brand is LesAbstraits (which is also the website to go buy it) & the fragrance is called La Douleur Exquise... the Castoreum dry down reminds me of the Castoreum used in Antaues.... but unfortunately there is nothing like Vintage Antaues 😒

I have not... I pretty much stay away from new Amouage releases lol I am getting a decant of the new Royal Tobacco so I can talk about it on the channel... but most new stuff has been dissapointing to be honest... i have very low expectations which no one can even surpass the lowered bar expectations 😂😂😂
