The wifey banned me from wearing Kalan. She admitted that she was embarassed for me the first time I wore out on a double date. The scent was a big flop with everyone that night complaining about it. Sold it soon after.

It’s for a man. It’s hard to pull off but that orange blossom and pepper shine on me. I get it though. It can be hard to wear but it’s skin chemistry. My buddy wore it and it smelled like poo poo with orange. Not for everyone but kills for me.

Darley is criminally underrated. I can’t believe it never even gets mentioned. It’s niche Le Male. I mean sure it’s not exactly original but a lot of PDM fragrances are inspired by other things. I get great performance in the summer with Darley and it smells so classy.

My top 5 are Layton, Sedley, Herod, Percival and Greenley. I do not have Altair yet, but I am interested in trying it one day.

Love the list! Although, Layton is my #1. I always feel great when I wear it. I layered it last spring with Aqua di Gio while on a trip to San Francisco, and I had two different women at the hotel say I smelled clean, yummy. Stay classy!

Galloway is a Banger. Loved, and I mean LOVED Sedley and over a year it turned into the biggest blah fragrance in my eyes. Sold it, and kept Galloway as my PDM freshy.

I'm glad someone finally put the exclusif's and oud fragrances at the bottom. For me 1. Layton (best fragrance I have ever smelled) 2. Carlisle 3. Herod (can never buy besides clones because of zero performance)

Is your Sedley the reformulated one ? When it was launched it did not last and they had to make it stronger, that what I keep hearing. The only time I heard about a reformulation to last better than the original formula. I tested it I think two years ago and it performed well.

I think the opening stages are mass appealing and I love this part. But dry down to me smells like a wet log with some leather and sweetness is very subtle at that point.

I just do not understand how people not raised in the east enjoy oud. It’s an alien scent thats closest allegories are generally unpleasant in our culture. I’d like to enjoy it but even with fragrances where it’s light, I think, boy this would be so much better without that oud. Who wants to smell that on another person? Even if I liked one, those around me probably won’t. And what a way to ruin a date night unintentionally. Perseus was a disappointment for me, one of those frags with an Avon Skin So Soft/Bug spray scent mixed in. Reminiscent of D&G Light Blue. 12:15 Sweet Douche Bag… whahahahaha! Greenly has become my favorite, surpassing Layton. Too many edits, apologies. I was thinking though, with you being an aspiring perfumer, perhaps you can tell me what causes the clean diaper type of scent. I can’t stand it, really tried to like it but hate it more than oud. Knowing what causes it would be helpful. I think either orange blossom or neroli but those are just guesses.
