Govt should make it mandatory that everyone will have to work 65-70 hrs a week, and then Sat/Sun holiday. People don’t understand that we are not Europe or USA, we need to grow, grow a lot. If we are lazy then how the economy will grow. Indian labor is less productive when compared to other developing south East Asian economies.

I have mixed feelings about retail banking being at #2 position. While definitely better in terms of work life balance, as compared to investment banking and consulting, all of my friends, who are retail bankers are unhappy The work pressure is mostly hectic and the targets make it annoying. And God help those who gets a tricky branch manager

Yeah. That's why I said just work life is also different from work pressure. While in retail banking the hours are less and usually you are not expected to work late but the target pressure and the toxicity might make it unbearable

But Ananta the working hours you mentioned about consulting and investment are'nt they violate india labour laws which states 48 hours per week. So do they give bonuses after the end of year for overtime work It is general questions i am having and not criticizing any company or anyone.
