Your list is my list Mitch 'cause I never saw a single Halloween flick. LOL. Just enjoy watching your excellent reviews. You have great sensibilities and a good eye for style. I’ve only watched Halloween I & II so far but I’ve watched Dead Meat Kill Counts for each one and it’s wild to me just how many movies there are in the franchise, and the multiple timelines are crazy

As much crap as rob zombies halloween 1 and 2 gets, I love the setting of a movie and how it captures that fall feel, rob is an amazing visual director (lets not talk about him as a writer) And his micheal played by Tyler mane is an amazing performance. He's brutal and I don't mind him being 6 foot something tall. His myers feels closer to true Myers then h20, resurrection and I'll even throw halloween 6 in there. The movies have a lot of issues, but the brutality and treatment of myers is not one of those as well as the mask. From the horrible masks of 5, h20 and resurrection to a really good and underrated mask.

Halloween 5 (Disappointing sequel to H4 but love crazy Loomis) (3/5) 9. Halloween II (Overrated with a slow 2nd act) (3.5/5) 8. Halloween 6 (Producer’s Cut) (Great atmosphere and score) (3.5/5) 7. Halloween H20 (Great end to the sibling storyline but lacks atmosphere and feels more like a Scream film) (4/5) 6. Halloween (2018) (A Great but safe legacy sequel) (4/5) 5. Halloween 4 (Has the best autumn atmosphere of the franchise) (4.5/5) 4. Halloween III: Season of the Witch (Absolutely bonkers and a classic non Michael Myers Halloween film) (4.5/5) 3. Halloween Kills (The ultimate slasher) (4.5/5) 2. Halloween Ends (Misunderstood finale that goes back to the original revisiting the concept of evil and a love letter to John Carpenter) (5/5) 1. Wow having Halloween Ends on 5 is hard to understand. Such a shitty lovestory movie with a Michael Myers as a coward living in a drain. And choosing Halloween II from 1981 in 8th place, is also incomprehensible to me.

Laurie Stode is vastly overrated imo. People act like she is what made the OG movie good. When for me her and her friends in that movie were the low point. Just plain boring or unlikeable. My ranking: 1) Halloween 4 2) Halloween 6 (theatrical cut) 3) Halloween 3 4) Halloween 1978 5) Everything else
