Disagree with Coconut Castaway, that is in my top 3. It's like a different spin on coconut. Like more sweet, not just a generic coconut scent. Agree with you on a lot of them though. That spartan scrub is easily the worst! And same with Mars Bar, that is easily one of the best if not the best. Agree about that moon rock, heavy grit right there!

You absolutely nailed spidey suds....but idk where your rubber scent comes from coconut castaway lol! Maybe you got a weird bar or something. I also know this is opposite of what you think, but I like the raptor rush! Just got mine today. It's the king of the briccs that is so boring and generic. It smells like a combo of like 8 different scents. Kinda like when you mix too many colors and it comes out brown 😂😂 the raptor rush reminds me of the forest I would go camping at as a kid!! I guess it's more of the nostalgic scent that pulls me in

I think the Coconut has a slight "toasted" scent to it which is probably what he dislikes...it definitely isn't rubber but sometimes it is hard for us to place a scent we dislike I guess.

Only hope soap would be my favorite if the scent was a tad stronger. It smells like a crossover between gold moss, and the cypress coast shampoo. Gold moss is wonderful, I agree. Another banger video btw

I used to use like 3 soaps. My favorite 3 but now I’m just using 1 and only 1 it saves me money. Fresh falls soap and fresh falls deodorant. And I can find it at Walmart for a dollar less, and I don’t have to go online and order it and pay shipping and handling.

@@Gary828 Out of the 30 soaps I smelled, I liked a few of them. Wisdom Wash, Fresh Falls, Cool Fresh Aloe, Pine Tar. Those are the only ones I liked out of the 30 I smelled and tried. The one that I hated was, I can't remember the name of it, but it had a vinegar smell to it, or at least it did to me.

I only have 3 soaps and two of them don't smell much but look the coolest: obi Wan and freedom one. Spartan scrub smells so strong and so good. Like pheromones primal I was in heat

Lol it's funny that you quarantine Spartan scrub I don't care for the scent either it smells like work boots like when you walk into a boot store and a mixture of that and tree trimmings to me lol black hole to me smells like a women's purse it has a leathery perfume smell lol I have not tried the Jurassic park soaps and I have not tried the dark side of the star wars 2 collection . I do like birchwood breeze I think it smells quite nice lol

I’m really just looking to be able to buy some of these limited bars from people since I can’t find them anywhere. So far my top ones are birch wood breeze, fresh aloe, coconut castaway, fresh falls and I wanna say the yoda bar, but I also really do love the wooden bourbon barell, and pine tar. Those are all the ones I’ve tried but I really wanna try them all to get a good definitive opinion on all of their soaps. Haven’t tried any shampoos, conditioners, deodorants or colognes

I love pine tar, it’s not for everyone, but if it leaves some black residue while your showering, just point the water at it and rinse it off it’s not that hard

Have you ever made cold process soap before? A lot of reformulations happen because their fragrance supplier stopped carrying that exact fragrance, many times due to ingredients that were initially harmful. So the supplier formulates a new scent, trying to copy the old, and sometimes sells that under the same name and probably doesn’t say anything to their customers. Dr Squach is not a fragrance company, they make soap. So fragrances are out of their hands in a way. Reformulated fragrances seems to be a common thing in the field. This equates to you just having the opportunity to find a new favorite every once in a while. It’s kind of like the difference between a farm that grows all its ingredients to make a whole pizza, including animals, vs just a normal neighborhood pizza place. Both make great pizza, but one totally controls the ingredients because they grow them, while the other is dependent on other manufacturers. Also you can imagine how expensive a bar of soap coming from that first place would cost, big $$$$.

As others here have alluded to, reviews and best/worst lists should be taken with a grain of salt. People's tastes and preferences vary, so don't be afraid to try a bar that you're interested in just because it was planned by a few (or several) reviewers. Conversely, if the latest and greatest bar comes out and you just do NOT have any interest in it...life is short and the bars are many. With all that being said, good to see your updated list, Gary. I have to say that I also tended to find Snowy Pine Tar's scent a tad nauseating, and this is coming from someone who really likes Birchwood Breeze and Spartan Scrub.

I think it's funny how different people's smells are. I completely agree with you about Black Hole. Smells like weed to me. It's my least favorite. However Spartan Scrub and Suds of Darkness are both in my top five. I get the Spartan Scrub dislike more than Suds of Darkness. Suds smells like a distant cousin to Fresh Falls or Werewolf wash but better in my opinion.

Sorry but I think wear wolf wash is one of there most unique soaps. It has a pomegranate like scent to it that makes it so good IMO.

I hate it to tell you, but Black Hole is my current favorite smell. I love the fruity upper smell and the leathery undertone, that stays on the skin after showering. Furthermore it triggers for me a pleasant memory of an overseas travel I did a few years ago. When I received the two Galaxy sets I ordered, I instantly ordered 3 more, just because of Black Hole.

I think I recall Black Hole having a very rough, like can actually scratch the skin, grit. I like to lather the bars directly on my skin and that is one I had to be careful about lol. It is a great bar though.

Unlike you, I have not tried all soaps of the Squatch catalogue yet, but at least half of it. While I agree in some of your choices, I completely disagree on other. It is all a matter of taste. One example: Gold Moss is in my top five, but Werewolf Wash is as well.

I agree with a lot of your rankings, especially the lowest tiered ones. BlackHole is just as you stated, smells nasty!! I threw it in ziploc bag (so it wouldn’t make my trash can smell) then tossed it into trash within minutes of opening the box. My favorite is the Bricc of the Dead! It smells so unique and makes my skin feel&look great. What’s funny, I don’t have a single non-limited bar in my cabinet, so perhaps that shows most of Squatch’s R&D is spent on new bars that smell better than the originals. Great and entertaining review.

My spidey suds bar was more red than blue, like mostly red. And to me that might have changed the scent a little more, making it smell more like cologne with a small hint of blueberry. Unlike yours which seems like it’s the other way around, being mostly blue.

Ruthless rinse is REALLY GRITTY. You either got a bad bar, or haven't used it enough. I've had three of them, and you don't really feel the grit until like the third wash

I will get around to it. And just to let you know I LOVED Ghostly Ale! One of my faves in their catalog and I told the owner he needs to make it full-time. The Fright Night bar was okay; not bad, but nothing special to me. The Scrooge Scrub and grinch Rinse I have it, but it's still in the package unopened, so have not tried it yet. I am thinking of saving it for a first impressions video.

Ghostly Ale is the Bomb!! Maybe my favorite heavy grit bar of all time. Scrooge scrub was pretty good too. He reformulated Grinch Rinse and I think it’s def an improvement. I’m looking forward to your reviews on these!

It's sad on how the quality of these soaps have tanked. These guys were good when they first arrived a few years ago. I have smelled like 30 of the 45 soaps and I generally didn't like any of them. There was one of the star wars soaps that smelled OK. It was the green one, that one smelled pretty good.
