I came up with another idea: How about an 0-6-6-0 Mallet Engine, an 0-4-0 Diesel Shunting Unit, and probably an 0-4-0 Compressed Air engine?

interesting ideas the diesel wouldn't make sense considering the time period and the compressed air would need a way to refuel on compressed air, maybe a new fuel station?

Great Video! But you should do an updated list since there has been a bunch more engines added to the game since 5 months ago!

alot of people ask me to update the list, but honestly i'd rather wait for like maybe a few more months or a few years later once a ton of new engines are added. these videos take a lot of time to make and most of the time they don't get as many views as the original so it kinda feels like a waste to put so much effort into a video ik won't do as well as the original lol. I'll eventually make an updated list but expect it in the next year or 2

2:23 I have to disagree you on that, the C is the weakest engine in game, and become useless when you get larger engines, meanwhile the A1/2 are more powerful locomotive than the C, and when you get bigger engines, the A’s still can be used as a helper or a shunter. Also being a tank engine isn’t a plus, considering they have to be refilled, which takes time out of hauling trains.

Hmm.. I feel like ranking them all in their absolute performance vs relative is a bit.. reductive. like the a1 has low stats, yeah. but that's because it's meant to be a dirt cheap engine designed to be bought with starter money (and on coal valley, starter money plus a little boost)

still the A1 is still pretty bad considering the price, my time with the A1 has been pretty bad, maybe i was a bit harsh on it but i asked the community and the majority agreed with me

I feel the engines in this game are quiet early. as in 1870 early

H2 solos every engine in the game due to its sheer power

Lowkey the class b might be the best because it’s the fastest in the game it’s also powerful and can climb hills better than the H because the H never gets enough friction and the H lost a tug of war against the B once

In my opinion the class j2 isnt the best because in my testing it crashes ALOT and dosent have good brakes i think the class e would be the number 1 engine since its a good hauler and has better brakes than the class j2

Fair enough, I personally prefer the speed of the J2 over the power of the E
