You can play Epic Board with 1 expansion, but not 2 like with the Giant Board. There is a list of expansions that have explicit interactions with the mountains, things like "Trees can be placed on mountains as long as, if they contain a path, then the path conforms to the blueprint in the mountain" and "All volcanos start *on* a mountain space that doesn't contain an inner city", but otherwise, I think nearly everything is usable.

Ah, yes! Thank you for the clarification on that! 😊 I suppose that'd put the epic board firmly in B tier then! Poor epic board; we did ya dirty! 😂

Oh man, no way! Just goes to show; different strokes for different folks, haha. Out of curiosity, do you fancy the other "destructive" expansions as well, or just the volcano in particular?

@@tabletoptokki yeah i havent played all of them yet but meteors has a cool element that letsbyou remove your tracks i jave been able to build something better back on BGA but generally not.

@@tabletoptokki How are volcanoes destructive ? Meteors can be (and are horribly random -- I hate'em), but volcanoes only destroy your routes if you choose it. I love lakes too, but they don't look as interesting as volcanoes to me, in term of choices & strategy. My experience is around 250 games on BGA (ELO 450). Only Blue & Red are available there atm. (Green & Yellow are coming soon, but still in alpha & w/o extensions. I didn't like them as much). -- Oh, and since this made me curious, I looked at the currently played games (around 320), here's what I found : 38 lakes 26 river 14 meteor 12 volcanoes Other are base game. (i.e. vast majority, over 70%) Seeing volcanoes under meteors made me sad. (Should have waited for some lava RRT tournament to start to cheat numbers :p) Still, I have to agree Blazing red has a 2nd issue (after meteors) : it's red. Blue is sooooooo much more pleasant... I didn't even try canyons & trails/forests, but already know I'll prefer Green edition over Yellow for the same reason.

Yes! The expansion packs are nice too because they're just the four dice, so relatively more affordable if you want to pick up a few to add to your collection! ^^

If you're looking for light and easy for more players, blue. Uf you're looking for more variability with gameplay and challenge but for fewer players, then green. Hope this helps! ^^

Of the mini expansions overall as a whole, this was my favorite by far. Which of the two expansions in red do you like the best?

@@mrsteaknshake I think I like the meteor one more! I like that both of them reduce the number of rounds by one as the game becomes a bit more complex, but I like the fact that meteors can destroy routes making you think more on how you can make up for those destructions and how you can change decisions on moving your paths towards them to gather points from the resources they provide. I found both of them interesting but you guys show a hella lot of different ones that seem more interesting. I didn't know there were so many!!!

is the airport expansion out yet? I'm not seeing it anywhere and had to hunt just to see the other mini expansions - most were out of stock where I find them LOL!

They were all released at the same time to my knowledge. I believe there was a lot of demand so many of them sold out quickly, but I'm sure Horrible Guild is working on getting new packs out to retailers ASAP! 😊
