Tag yourself, I am the Wesker 😈 Now on a more serious note, this video was made only with two purposes: Test the new KZbin Guidelines and as a joke. At no point in the entire video did I intend to offend anyone, neither did I praise any character in the higher tiers. I will not tolerate comments that promote hate, so if you plan on writing something offensive, I would rather you save that for yourself. I enjoy edgy humour but if the humour is just "Haha I hate a specific minority" then I don't see the joke.

Personally I'd put Blight in the "probably racist" category. He was, after all, a doctor working for the East India Company and accompanied them in their colonialist objectives. However, there's no definitive proof that he was racist himself. So a "probably racist", considering his time period and his job occupation, is fair in my opinion.

I'd say Cenobite, and also, as a Barker fan, can say he's not racist, and point out that in the original novel and the first movie based on it, PINHEAD WAS NOT EVEN THE VILLAIN! He was definitely an antagonist, but the real villain was Frank (no, not that Frank, but actually pretty close). Frank was a total bastard and probably at least a little racist. Even in the early sequels, his previous life as a normal human was one in which he was tremendously compassionate, losing all hope due to what he saw happen to people in WW1. After opening the box he found a new cause of "Enlightenment through Agony" and became, essentially, truly amoral (as in not concerned with morality so much as this much higher calling of extreme sensation). Evil by way of generally not ever giving someone a safe word, let alone any chance to change their mind and leave if he was called to them, but didn't care what color skin he was peeling off. Later sequels, comics, and even the direct sequel to the first book by Barker himself remade him into a wildly different, much more "traditionally demonic" entity, and that's lame, but he was entirely unconcerned with what color skin anyone had as far as I remember. Their cause was always "above" that sort of thing. The (actually shockingly good) remake Pinhead was equally nonplussed about skin color, just giving monkey's paw type gifts to whomever called her.

Fun fact, when Kirsty Cotton was turned into Pinhead in the comics, an aircraft carrying a box crashed into the territory of a indigenous tribe, and the tribals accidently solved the puzzle box. Some people were racist to black content creators, some of the content creators acted like the masks were the problem, BHVR listened to closely and we ended up losing the masks. Now, how do I think BHVR should of handled it? By actually trying to get rid of the racist people. Racism is never good, but taking away someone’s sign won’t make them any worse at spreading their beliefs. All I’m saying is that I miss the masks and wish everyone didn’t accuse poor bubba of doing blackface.

It just happens that the location the game he appears in is a fictional town in Africa where you kill infected black humans named Majini. It's really iffi but it could mean nothing as well since Wesker doesn't really care about race but world domination. The game plot also revolves around the Progenitor virus which originates from a species of flowers found only in Africa so it makes sense that the enemies would be black. In Mercenaries mode Excella, Wesker's business partner, has some finishers where she literally humiliates the zombies slapping them, injecting them with Uroboros and totally disregarding them as entities. I think these would hit differently nowadays but the only excuse is that these are not humans anymore so you can't really accuse Capcom of racism. RE4 had the same enemies called Ganados and they were Spanish people in a remote village.

Hey MintSkull! If that can reassure you, this subject if one of my domain of study and you did good discussing it (in the context of a joke tier list). One of the element that you could have explained that would have clarified your tier list would be the distinction between nationality and race. The definition of "race" is highly variable depending on the time period and location. Since the killers are coming from different periods of time (and you could argue "dimensions") their vision/ comprehension of what is "racism" would vary wildly. I would also note that a couple of the killers you are rating as "not racist" are espousing supremacist ideologies (like Blight, Doctor and Pig). Those ideologies go hand in hand with racist ideologies; they are just less outwardly specific. I could write a whole essay about this right now in the comment section of KZbin, but that sounds like a bad idea that would curse me for all of eternity.

Hey, thank you so much for your comment! Now that you mention it, it is absolutely true that all those characters mentioned have that element in common. I wanted to make this tier list as “friendly” as possible as it was not my intention to discriminate or promote any hateful ideologies, so I didn’t want to indulge too much or read about hateful ideologies. Additionally it’s the main reason I didn’t mention the only actual case of racism in dbd, which was the Bubba masks being used to promote hate :( I wouldn’t mind reading a whole essay to be fair 😅

I'm of the opinion that discussing those things is necessary for a better understanding of the problem. Ignorance is bliss, but it's also the main driving force behind those ideologies. For the Bubba mask situation, there's a lot of nuances there. The intentions for this gameplay mechanic weren't "racist", but as we saw that doesn't mean it can't be used to hurt people. Even if 99% of the player base didn't care, BHVR probably did the right thing to remove the masks if it meant protecting those being harassed. It's sad that the discussions surrounding that decision were so... let's say "passionate", but that's what you get on the internet.

@@MintSkull MInSkull, I would also like to tell you that the concept of racism itself isn't really something ancient. The overall concept of race and racial superiority occurred only in the mid 17th century as a way to justify the enslavement of Africans and colonization of non-European territories (and honestly, some European territories too). I think putting some of the characters who lived BEFORE the invention of racism doesn't make much sense (ig, Plague. She did have slaves, they built her temples and stuff, but it doesn't necessarily mean that she was racist to them). These characters simply wouldn't understand what race and racism means. In fact, the reason I call the race a "concept" rather than a "physical quality" is because humans don't really have any "races" which has been confirmed by multiple studies. I could talk more on this topic but honestly, I have already spoken too much

While this is a tongue-in-cheek video, it's important to understand that the concept of race has changed over the years. Nowadays we mainly associate it with skin tone, but in Deathslinger's time, even nationality would have been considered. The idea of all white people being of the same race is actually very new. The Irish were definitely regarded as a different race in Deathslinger's time.

I’ve seen every Hellrasier film and I can confirm that Pinhead and his group are not racist. They’re not going to say…torture you more painfully depending on your skin color. The only other torture pinhead uses other than physical is psychological torture as first Seen in Hellrasier: Inferno (The 5th Hellrasier film) but he doesn’t decide what type of torture you should endure depending on your skin color.

I just want to say that as a black person I've met some smart racists out there and very dumb non-racist people. Like, for example, the ones who go full circle trying to defend me or speak for me as if what happened to me or didn't has the biggest impact on them. Some people are legitimately just racist or indifferent to it. I feel like Sadako would have fell in the probably margin for how she died and was brought up traditionally, but that's just me. The Legion is the most controversial to me is what I originally thought but then Freddy came into the mix. Okay the huntress was a huge stretch with no reason to be up as high as you put her even in her lore there is no proof of even hinting at her being racist. Let me explain in her lore spoiler warning. she was raised by just her mother who died well she was young bye and Elk. She grew up having to survive on her own killing small animals seeing their faces as they died this excited her she enjoys the hunt. going for bigger and stronger Human became her favorite it didn't matter if they are russian which btw she is russian and killed both the russian soldiers and the ones they were fighting against the russian soldiers in Anna's lore they end up uniting their captives and try working together to fight off the Huntress. It doesn't matter who you are if you are near huntress territory or she around you are a target regardless of color. she is a cannible as well she eats all humans as well like leatherface basically. like a couple of these were stretches at best same with nurse she killed multiple people in her backstory she never saw it as a race thing but as the people themselves being disgusting she killed over 50 people no races where mentioned in her lore from what I remember she became broken and saw everyone in there in the same bad light.
