Great list, man. Bo1 feels like such a “lightning in a bottle” game. The atmosphere, color palette, music, even the cod point system and contracts in MP… It felt so satisfying to browse the catalogs of camos, reticles, face paints, etc and trying to decide what to spend my cod points on that could only be EARNED by playing the game

CoD4 is the GOAT, i ll keep saying that, it was revolutionary,created the Promod era, eSports era,it was bigger than CS at the time in the pro scene.The xfire era ..the good old days, the glitches, the jumps,the bounces,the out of the maps almost on every map,the quickscoping , the simple 3 killstreals uav airstrike helicopter,simple and fun. It had the noobtube the martyrdom the 3x frag the last stand all these for the newbies but everyone was fine with it,game was always so much fun..The dedicated servers, you knew you join your server and you were like a family there everyone knew each other ..the clan wars, the admins,the teamspeaks, the youtube montages, the custom mods,CoD Jumper community, the punkbuster , the gametracker website, every gun was unique and had its own role in the gameplay. Some random memories from the game , nothing ever came close to CoD4, thr game was all about the players having fun. The 2 maps they gave free, Winter Crash and Killhouse, everything became iconic, we were so lucky the ones that lived that era.

Infinity Ward had the best run with the OG Modern Warfare games. BO1 and BO2 were good, but they were nothing compared to MW trilogy. Treyarch just rode IW's 3 game lightning in a bottle trilogy and made their games too arcade style... they lost the plot of being "boots to the ground". Like MW2 (2022) is a solid game because DMZ was a fresh mode that gave you the chance to run free around a huge map and had missions, which made it fun to keep dropping in to complete them. And then Treyarch's MW3 was a train wreck. DMZ zombies was good when it started but after 2-4 weeks, it became stale and way too redundant. CoD4, MW2 (2009) and MW3 (2011) were peak CoD and it's not even close.

With all due respect I have to add "CoD 2 Big Red One" to S tier on my behalf because it was the first CoD I ever played and the Campaign will always have a place in my heart. The story is so heartbreaking and watching all of your friends die off one by one taught me as a child to cherish your loved ones because they can be gone in a blink of an eye

You should definitely play CODM just know that it will take a lot of grinding to get to a point where you can have a lot of fun and it also doesn’t have any of that gritty, real war like action like the old days and a downside it that it doesn’t have a campaign but sometimes they add a game mode thats like a campaign but only for events like this years 4th anniversary. So I think you should at least try it.

Congrats on 200K! This list is definitely accurate. I’m replaying the CoD campaigns than ranking them because I haven’t played them in SO long. (Thanks for the idea!) but I’ve lost so many of the copy’s that it’s gonna cost me more to get all the cod games I lost than all the money I spent on MWIII and the bundles combined lol. I think WW2 and Ghost are severely underrated in their own ways. Ghost had probably one of the most innovative and fun campaigns at the time and still holds up today ( not including mw3 reboot cuz that one is not a real campaign). The mp was average to below-average. I didn’t really think bad of it , but when i played bo and bo2 it really didn’t hold up. WW2 had an amazing mp experience. The headquarter was amazing. The zombies was very good. ( DLC’s were fine , but nothing special). The campaign was a good WW2 story but i would rather play battlefield V. I might have some biased because Ghost was my first COD game( dont make fun of me for this) and I bought WW2 with my own money from my first real job and still have both of those to this day.

Codm would defo be an A tier, It has like almost every map from all the cods, a massive variety of guns from all cods, and a bunch of loved gamemodes. The downsides are that it is on mobile, it has one zombie map, and its the map no-one wants, as well as no campaign.

Pretty great list overall. But based on UI alone I cannot possibly imagine placing MWIII on the same level as MW(2019). 2019 had better movement in my opinion--a lot more fluid and faster than MWII but not quite as breakneck-fast as MWIII. I think they overshot the mark a little bit and made MWIII too fast. MW(2019) is the absolute goldilocks zone for movement, I think. MW(2019) had a cooler, more gritty tone, better soundtrack, INFINITELY better UI and menus, and fewer ridiculous Fortnite-ish cosmetics. I personally really liked the maps, the weapons were incredible, and weapon handling felt great. And it was not a cash grab like MWIII. No way MWIII belongs in the same zip code as 2019.

Movement In general felt so much better In all the olschool COD games imo , from COD4 - MW3/B02. After that It seems like alot of the more modern COD games got too fast and twitchy , yet It still felt like you were traveling less distance despite quicker looking animations , and also modern CODs seem like you started dying too fast from bullets. COD just became twitch fests , older games online felt more relaxed and you could battle longer between deaths and absorb more bullets , nowdays evryone plays COD like they're hyper on crack and It's not even fun to watch.

mw 2019 did feel different from all the other cods the movement is the most realistic and slowest almost felt like a battlefield game but i dont know if thats a bad or good thing but for me i kinda prefered the more arcadey feel for mutliplayer in mw2 and mw3 as i think cod is better as a fast paced game rather than a bf clone

Regarding wz, i think broken metas can be good for the game at times. Also i love IW, one of the games that really made me a cod enthusiast. The previous cods just didnt click for me, just like iw didnt click for you. It looked great, had improved movement flow from bo3, weapons and maps which felt like they actually belonged in the game. Honestly, BO3 doesn’t deserve S tier. The campaign was awful, difficult, boring and too long, the multiplayer wasn’t anything special and had many broken weapons, it was a jet pack cod so didn’t feel the same as previous black ops games, the only redeeming quality is zombies, which I prefer bo1 for its simplicity and replayability. But hey, that’s just an opinion.

I love your list. Not much I’d change from yours myself. I do have to say though, Infinite Warfare is one of my guilty pleasures. Even surrounding all the hate that year for that game, I still found myself playing it quite a bit. I loved the campaign, the multiplayer was good but it could get overwhelming with the advanced movements but still was an enjoyable experience. I think what standed out for me the most was the zombies and I really liked how they incorporated different themes and eras with each new map. Undeniably, IW is in my top 3. Such great times with that game.

It is! MW3 was trash and now BO6 is also trash. DMZ alone is enough to make MW2 go up on A tier, at least. The people that hated were the sweats and the streamers cause of the "movement"... like slide canceling. It's an asinine reason to say it's the worst. To this day, I play DMZ just because of the freedom it gives us when dropping in Al Mazhra, Ashika or Vondel. And now you have other extraction shooters coming out (Off The Grid and Delta Force)... IW should not let this game mode die, they should double double and make it a staple of CoD.

Yeah, OG MW are not all S-tier, but BO1, 2 and 3 are? 🤦 That makes the list invalid, imo. BO1 is A at best, BO2 straddles the line between A and S and BO3 is B at best.

Infinite Warfare is one of my top 3 cod's. I'm still playing it. But I like your tier list. I think the only bug difference for is the Infinite Warfare, I will put it in the S tier

I’m not going to lie man, infinite warfare was and still is my guilty pleasure. Something about that game just sparks so many fond memories. Funny enough, back in high school my friends used to clown that game so hard. Now, they all went back and played it and actually really enjoy it. Interesting how time can change perspective.

I know its a personal list, but having the original CoD 1 and 2 as low as they were is a crime. Sure they don't have the same features as today's CoDs but they were monumental when it came to their singleplayer campaigns at the time.

All of the OG MW games are S-tier. The multiplayer and campaigns were the best and laid the foundation of CoD games for the next 15 years! Infinity Ward is far and away the best studio Activision's got at their disposal

Now this list is fire , every game u put in s tier belongs 💯 and ghosts belongs in c tier because the campaign was fun and the lil extra modes u could do in multiplayer were pretty lit . WaW belongs in s tier too , idec I'd let nostalgia talk on that game . I'd say bo1 zombies was the best in my opinion though .
