Today, Moon makes a Honkai: Star Rail Tier List for Version 2.2, which goes over EVERY Character in Honkai Star Rail. The tier list goes over which 5-star characters are the most valuable when it comes to their kits and pull-value in Honkai Star Rail. fter the Release of Robin, Boothill, and Harmony MC, the meta has been introducing new options, such as an established follow-up meta, the break meta is upcoming, and so on. This plays a huge part regarding character's spots on the tier list, as well as how they have progressed as a character in the meta overtime.

Ruan Mei needs her own tier, she's the best character in this game. She Buffs: -Everyone's DMG up to 68%. -Everyone's All-Type PEN RES by 25%. -Everyone's SPD by 10% of her own SPD. -Everyone's Break Effect by 20%. -Everyone's Break DMG by 50%. -Everyone's Weakness Break Efficiency by 50%. -Delays Enemies Turn. And if you have her Lightcone: -Buffs everyone's DMG by another 24%. -Regenerate everyone's energy by 10 at the start of each turn. -Restore 1 Skill Point after using the ult.

Even if the game leaves her behind, Sushang will always be special to me. Also, Clara with Aventurine is hilarious. Those two plus Topaz and Robin is cozy. I’ve also used her to help my Seele, or put her in teams with no physical weaknesses so she’ll always attack when enemies do their turn.

uh idk if you'll read this but as a seele main the way we use seele is different from 1.0 we dont really depend on resurgence that frequently nowadays usually like the more damaging team is mono quantum but personally in terms of being consistent with the ults is what we do we use tingyun the damage is not the same but in terms of overall vs damage on screenshot the tingyun seele combo is just broken until we get another tingyun character or something else to help seele do her job like it was in 1.0 a little bit easier

The Tingyun + seele pair is definitely really good! I can see being consistent with the ults being very powerful for sure. Do you mix in more basic attacks now, or primarily skills + Ult spam? I definitely think seele has a bunch of potential, I mainly just thought I’d mention resurgence since it is a good part of her skill kit :)

From what I've experienced so far, a must have or the backbone units(limited) are: - Acheron - Black Swan - Silver Wolf - Ruan Mei - Robin - Huohuo - Aventurine - Firefly (soon) I just thought that their kits have the most longevity and can be the core units of your team archetypes.

I agree but I'd replace swan with Kafka, she is far stronger and less prone to being replaced in the DOT team. Even if there is another character that does what Kafka does but with biger numbers or slightly better you'd just play Kafka and the new DOT unit, retriggering dots twice as much would be a massive improvement.

Yukong at E6 with good energy regen from either rope or Huohuo stops being clunky with speed tuning, then she’s just free perma ATK and crit rate/dmg.

I would also like to point out that with Gallagher if you manage to sustain the team without needing to use skill points which obviously depends on the situation and can be difficult to do against enemies that debuff but he can technically be more skill point positive than luocha himself because Gallagher is mostly skill point positive and can advance his own action by 100% with every ultimate meaning he should be able to get 1 skill point more than a luocha with the same speed under ideal circumstances

Hook is really funny on Wind 4pc set. Since her ult advances her forward by 25%, she effectively becomes a mini-DHIL with the additional 20% advance from wind set. Pretty copium, but really funny.

I'd definitely move Jing Yuan a tier. He's the most versatile - in terms of types of contents he can clear - DPS on my account (admittedly I only have DHIL, Blade, Argenti, Ratio, Topaz, Himeko as 5* DPS). He routinely clears MoC 12 in under 3 cycles (or up to 5 if unfavourable element), comfortably does 25-40k in PF, great in SU, fast farmer and decent on auto. The same can be said about Blade to a slightly lesser extent: he doesn't beat others in solo damage but useful in MoC _and_ PF and can be solo carry _or_ a part of a dual DPS makes him valuable, imo.

If everyone's top tier - nobody is. This is waaaaaaay too top-heavy. And the underrated tier is more of a "undecided", since, you know... underrated compared to who? Like, is Serval underrated compared to Jing Yuan? No, she isn't. Much as I love your content overall, this was not helpful at all...

When I refer to “underrated” I am referring to characters that typically don’t really get much mention or shine. They are typically B Tier or lower on most tier lists I have seen, which is why I am referring to them as “underrated”. I also didn’t split up supports/sustains/dps into each individual category otherwise it would be split more often. I only placed one DPS character out of a large amount in the highest tier. I personally don’t think there’s anything wrong with acknowledging a lot of characters in the game have very high potential, and are good characters overall. If the video wasn’t really your cup of tea, that’s okay, it isn’t meant for everyone as there is definitely no possibility for a tier list to please everyone, as it is primarily subjective content. Thank you for the feedback overall though.

I'm just saying that if someone new to the game comes looking for recommendations and looks at this lists, what they'll see is "meh, pull for anyone, doesn't matter". And yes, I understand that you talk through the characters in the process, but I'm sure a lot of people just skip to the end. IMO, there should be more to it than "has potential". Like, sure, Luka has potential to do some damage. Is it really the same potential as Blade and Jing Yuan though? Will Jinglyu, who doesn't need any specific supports to do crazy damage provide the same value as Kafka who needs a very specific team for very specific conditions? Maybe. Maybe not. It's not my list, it's fine to have different opinions. I just think that a list that is this top-heavy is kinda misleading. And ok, let's say your definition of underrated is "compared to other tier lists". It's a perfectly valid opinion, heck, I for once think Natasha is underrated, but then instead of just putting them into the same group, put them where you think they belong. Right now, having, say, Asta, in "underrated" tier doesn't tell me if she's underrated but great, underrated but very strong, underrated but incredible value? This category is completely pointless. If you're undecided, just make more tiers, don't put them all in this "idk what to do with them, but they are probably better than you think" category. I'm sorry if I sound harsh, I don't mean to, I really appreciate your content, and it's hard to express emotions via text. And I'm definitely not here to argue for individual placements - tier lists are just opinions in the end of the day. I'm just saying that for how helpful and well thought-out your videos usually are... this one kinda isn't.

@@SimonCleric I can see the skipping to the end point, as then the missed out context could allow people to be unsure about why characters are where they are, I can’t really do much about skipping to the end though, since that’s missing out context. For the underrated tier, I mainly wanted to speak on why those characters are considered “underrated”, Asta for example, I mentioned her buffs + how she can work as an alternative to Ruan Mei on the DoT team. In the future though (if I make another one of these) I could try to say where they’d normally be placed (likely the Great tier?) and explain why I do feel like they’re underrated in general though. When it comes to pulling (other than the highest tier, since I do believe those sustains/supports/DPS have incredible pull value depending on your account) I would likely made a specific video for who to pull for specifically or at least my thoughts on that, and this video was mainly just one I made since I have been getting requests for a while now to make my own list and share my thoughts on each character. In the future what I could try is making even more sub categories potentially to help be more specific on the characters, for example if there was a DoT category, then the damage over time-centric characters would go there + the reasonings as to why they are there. Maybe that would be better? As for the last part, I understand it’s hard to express emotion through text, so don’t worry I’m sure you mean what you’re saying not to be rude, but give genuine feedback, which I do appreciate.

Thank you for the video! I was able to get a good grasp of what characters I should focus on building. Unfortunately, I think it would’ve been better without the “underrated” tier, as it doesn’t actually tell you HOW good they are. Are they good? Strong? Incredible? As someone else mentioned, you did provide comments on how strong some characters, but I believe the point of a tier list is to show you who are the strongest within a single glance. they have been powercrept to hell unfortunately but i remembered QQ and Bailu performed stellarly on my MOC runs. the current MOC i used Bailu to clutch a KO on one of my supports then destroyed the Opera Trio with Acheron. She still have the Heal on Hit buff plus Damage reduction on top of it which makes your units tankier and of course the classic revive passive which have saved my MOC runs most of the time.

Boothills single target is better than acheron on a three enemy wave. His single target damage. The guy is the best boss killer by a mile and he doesn teven have his best in slot relics.

I still dont get how I can make Seele work great.. in my experience so far she has been the hardest to play right and she always underperforms. Im having way easier time with my JY and Blade than with Seele, and arguably their relic qualities are roughly equal. She is always placed high in tier lists and I wonder if its just me being a garbo Seele player or what.. what am I missing here? What teams do yall use with her lol help me

It may be the investment of said relics. If your relic quality is low, then yeah Jing Yuan and Blade are gonna feel better to play than Seele is. If they're mid investment, I'd say they're about equal. If they're high investment, Seele should definitely perform better. It really depends. It also depends on how you play Seele, her teammates, and the enemies you're matched up against. You generally wanna go for dmg per cycle instead of screenshot dmg like IL, Jingliu, Acheron, Ratio, or in some cases Argenti or Jing Yuan. Seele's main focus and strength is her turn manipulation and her innate speed boosts, allowing her to continously attack multiple times a cycle. Pair her with an action advance support like Bronya or Sparkle and/or an energy regenerator like Tingyun to get her 120 cost Ult up frequently and you'll have a very very nice Seele that acts pretty frequently. She may not do as much screenshot dmg as some of the other top tiers but that's not what she relies on. And that's not me saying her dmg is dogcrap. Her screenshot dmg can be very VERY high when given the right investment. And she can clear stuff pretty fast with that. And how to play her, you do want to pair with action advancers and try to proc Resurgence as much as possible. During single boss battles with no mobs, you want to get your Ult up as fast as possible in hopes to burst down the boss quickly. Tingyun helps with this. And one thing I do like to do is time my Ultimate to use it right before her next turn starts. If you didn't know, Seele's Ult actually enters her into her Resurgence state so she gets all those self buffs without needing to kill an enemy. Timing the Ult right before the actual turn can make sure Seele gets the Resurgence buffs on her turn without needing to kill an enemy. All in all, it really does depend on the level of relic investment, how you play her, and the teammates you use. Yes, Seele is very hard to play I'll admit. But when done correctly, she's on the level of some of the top tier DPS units because of her speed. Now ofc, more experienced Seele mains will probably explain this better than I can. I'm a f2p Seele main who also plays DHIL so maybe take this with a grain of salt, but I hope this helps

Using Persona 3 music before Reload lets goooo I lost my 50/50 on Robin and burnt my budget on C6 Acheron so I couldn’t whale for her... I love Harmony MC and Firefly, so I might pair him up with Firefly. Since I have Ruan Mei C0R1, I should be able to make a great team

i agree with this entire tier list inlcuding not being sure which tier jing yuan and blade should go in but i disagree with acheron's placement bc dps characters are the primadona of the team i think they should be chosen based on how much you like them or their playstyle bc of that no dps really goes that high for me bc if i didn't like acheron's playstyle i could just wait for a new lightning dps or wait for jing yuan/kafka to come back ofc same could be said about the rest but i think building teams starting with your favorite dps is the easiest way to build and there's so many ways to play supports depending on the dps you use plus once you have 2 sustains any 2 sustains you're fine but they still have astonishing pull value if you don't have enough sustains so i'd keep that tier the same but bump acheron down to very strong

I think what’s missing from the “value for your account” discussion is the direction that the game is moving in. Looking at FUA strats, super break strats, unit synergies and specializations are becoming increasingly more important. Units like Robin, Topaz, and Ruan Mei that specialize in a particular archetype and can turn on other units (Robin adding her extra attacks to Topaz’s while Topaz generates lots of energy for Robin) are going to be more valuable than generalized units, especially as end game content is becoming more difficult. Just making your DPS act twice via Bronya or Sparkle isn’t going to be optimal anymore, teams will need to be more than the sum of their parts.

I can definitely understand this too. I was actually considering making a “meta” analysis sort of video maybe, where I go over each archetype on the rise in star rail, and which units are becoming increasingly important as time as gone on/is going on.

I think the game is getting to a point where you can no longer say, for example, “Ruan Mei is the best character in the game because she can go in any team”, because she’s not the best support for FUA anymore, she doesn’t go into Acheron debuff teams, Robin is equal or better for DOT teams and eventually DOT will get their own specialized support, etc. Going into year two I think units need to be evaluated based off their highest potential in their designated role. For example, I think Topaz is becoming one of the best units in the game because she’s so hyper specialized for FUA. She doesn’t go anywhere else, but she perfectly does everything that team wants.

I gotta say, Bronya shouldn't be the most recommended for the 300-standard banner pull bonus anymore. Back then? Sure. Bronya was the best. But it was because there were too few harmony characters. With the situation right now, Bronya is barely used. I think Himeko is the more suitable option now since she holds her spot in PF.

I think Blade and Qingque should be higher since Jade is right around the corner. With Jingliu, Blade and Jade. Blade gets 2 stacks every turn plus another stack on Jingliu's turn so he can use his follow up attack very consistently. This then gives Jade lots of stacks for her to follow up attack consistently. As long as Qingque is E4, her enhanced basic can give Jade 6 stacks which is higher than hitting "all enemies on the field" since there can only be 5 at a time. If the enemies are weak to quantum then these 2 will work well together.

The one thing I would disagree with on this list is the rank where sustains that pain to prevent your dps from getting straight up one shot are placed in. What I mean by that Is I hate running Gallagher with a dps that doesn’t have some random hp and def stats thrown on them. I’m not saying they’re bad because of this, I think they just shouldn’t be placed that high for some of them. The damage we receive has only gone up since the beginning of the game, so I’m wondering how we’re supposed to play pure healers if we keep going in the same direction? Saying “oh well I’ll just reset and hope rng doesn’t screw me” isn’t a viable option to me

QQ's RNG as a downside gets overblown by content creators. As often as you get unlucky you'll get lucky. It averages out. I wouldn't say she's all that f2p friendly however. She really wants at least e4 and Sparkle is basically a requirement to use her comfortably in MoC. Also you probably want a limited sustain with her because she's made of porcelain.

That is fair! I typically get more lucky than unlucky when using her personally, but typically speaking I would definitely say she’s a pretty strong quantum character overall. I could understand the E4 want for sure since her Autarky is very powerful for more damage output. I can see the SP consumption being a notable downside to mention since it can be rough at times if you are low on skill points (Sparkle helps out a lot with this). I’d swap Bailu and Natasha or just move Bailu down next to Natasha. I pulled Bailu early on but I hated using her, her bounce heal is really annoying and feels so bad when it bounces to the characters that don’t really need it and leaves character that are low alone. I really like using QQ, QQ has randomness mitigation in her kit but the only mitigation Bailu has is her revive and she only does it once. You just let them die so yeah you’d better revive them! So Bailu feels even more random than QQ and in a healer is really not where you want randomness. So I would always use Natasha over Bailu. Of course these days I don’t use either because I have Luocha now. I really like Clara but I think they have some test when introducing things and if it’s good with Clara then they have to change it and add some rule that makes it so that Clara can’t really use it.

Oh man, I thought I could find the answer. I don't know, should I pull for Fu Xuan or wait for HuoHuo in her rerun banner? I only have Natasha and Lynx as healer and my Aventurine with his LC does very well xD My plan is also to build a perfect DoT Team (Kafka, Ruan Mei, HuoHuo are missing. Currently running Guinaifen, Black Swan, Asta/Pela, Lynx/Pela), I have a perfectly units for FUA Team (but thinking to pull for Jade and switch her with Ratio) and I want to build a perfectly Super Break Team with my Aventurine (waiting for Ruan Mei rerun banner) So that I can kinda run excellent four teams in Pure Fiction situationally. I kinda want both, but I also need to save Stellar Jades for some other planned characters. It's kinda tricky.

Since you already have Aventurine I’d recommend pulling for HuoHuo over Fu Xuan. She’d be a great upgrade over Natasha and even Lynx. You also have a lot of time to save for Fu Xuan since she recently had a rerun and HuoHuo’s should he coming up

Asta might be the most underrated character in my opinion. In a DoT team she can clear in 3/4 cycles, while Ruan Mei would save a maximum of 1 cycle in the best case scenario. She deserves more attention for those who want to play DoT teams and dont have Ruan Mei or want to use Ruan Mei in another team.

He might be playable but I’m not too sure honestly. As for topaz ratio aventurine, Ruan Mei is an awesome option with them! Her buffs can benefit the damage of the entire team :). She’s very universal with what she can provide.

⁠ I’d go for Fu Xuan since you already have an awesome 5 star buffer but are lacking a great sustainer (Lynx and Gallagher don’t compare at all. & Bailu is good, but not nearly as good). - Fu is incredible & has been almost immortal for me. Hah I honestly rarely ever need to worry about or manage my team’s health when she’s there. So definitely think she’s worth getting now before her rerun banner goes away (also; who knows when Ruan Mei is getting a rerun). I was going to skip her too during her first banner - mainly cause I didn’t like her bubblegum magical girl design 😅 but also cause I was having trouble deciding between her and another - but wound up doing a few pulls, _and I’m so glad I did!_ Cause even though I also have Bailu, Huo Huo & recently got Luocha during his last banner; she’s still my go-to sustainer 90% of the time Anyways, good luck with your pulls no matter who you decide to get 👍

I have archeron so I think for her team Gallagher might still be better for the debuffs, but for most of the content fu xuan will do better for sure.

Natasha was terrible for me ngl. She was my only sustain in the beginning, and I struggled so, so hard. I couldn't beat Aventurine with her, which is when I pulled Luocha. Natasha is, in my opinion, the worst sustain in the game. She just doesn't do enough outside of early game. I feel like she's just outclassed by literally every other sustain imo

Kafka by herself is not incredible value, if you get kafka you need to get other Dot characters to compliment her, she is heavly dependant on other characters and doesn't offer good value just by herself.

@@Zephoz-214 hyper Kafka is still good, ofc not as good as normal dot comps but still decent enough to clear the moc in lightning focused moc and Kafka literally is the only one to use the nihility path to its fullest potential in all forms of simulated universe. If you say Kafka ain't in incredible value then acheron ain't in it too as she also needs 2 other nihility characters just to function unlike Kafka where she can hyper , duo or even run a three dot characters. If there is one dps characters which can be on that incredible value the first one to be on that is Kafka 💀.

I hope you don't take any offense to this, but I'd love to see a video where you prepare a script beforehand, even just a rough script. It's clear your have a lot of in-depth knowledge about the game that exceeds even other content creators, as shown by your numerous tournament wins with high slill plays. But it doesn't get shown as much through your discourse. So many times where the words "just, very, of course, definitely" etc are repeated in the same sentences alone. A lot of times where words are used to ultimately say nothing or only to repeat something. Nonetheless, I'll still continue to watch and enjoy the videos regardless, and you should create your videos in whatever method brings you the most enjoyment and efficiency at once.

To this day I will defend my homegirl Ruan Mei being a very worth it unit. Universal damage boost, weakness break boost, extended weakness break, can enable dual comps very well. Ruan mei is not that big if you can't break the shield then rm is mid as f... I top tier godly one is only acheron.she can break any shield in the game.she can dmg all enemies in the battle and she destroys them with brutal dmg She don't need rm if you have her your account is fine just be sure to pull for jaoqiu

fu xuan lets u play literally any character while buffing them at the same time she's pretty much abundance, preservation and harmony all in 1 other preservations have no healing fu xuan gives insane dmg reduction to the whole team + CC immunity she is the strongest character ever made in a hoyo game and will never be power crept unless they make the same kit with bigger numbers she gives dmg buffs, makes ur dps immortal, makes u immune to cc, heals and does fairly high damage
