grunge revival is my absolute favorite kit, I love cas and we never have enough alternative styles in this game. everything's either very basic or very bright or both. plus, grunge is probably as close as we'll get to punk, so now my simself can now look more like me! I just wish we had more diverse styles in the sims in general, or even a few "grunge" hairstyles like a side shave or purposefully messy

​@@lissschmidt6902 honestly, I found their clothes kinda bland. plus, I'm never going to play with werewolves so it'd be unreasonable to pay $20 for a few okay cas pieces, plus the actual gameplay stressing me out and ruining my current saves, when we could simply have more base game alternative styles or other packs focusing on it. especially when we have over half the current packs in y2k or millennial styles

Yes and even though I get that some people are feel like werewolves serves the purpose if you’re not into supernatural Sims I think this kid is a good alternative. Plus a lot of the clothing items in werewolves are very much wolf themed sometimes I don’t want my sons wearing shirts with wolves on them 😂

grunge revival and incheon arrivals are my absolute must haves, i use something from those kits in every single save. modern menswear was soooo disappointing, we are always lacking in stuff for masculine framed sims so its so frustrating that they flubbed a kit meant entirely for them

i’d definitely put modern menswear in not worth buying tbh. the idea of more “feminine”/high fashion clothing for male/masculine frame sims in the game is so good, but they really missed the mark with this one. grunge revival is easily my favorite kit. i love the aesthetic of it and i’m so excited for the goth kit to come out next year!!

Kayla is right about stuff packs tbh. I like home chef hustle and paranormal but I'd say the stuff pack I get the most use out of by FAR is tiny living. The build/buy/CAS assets are all cute and useable and I get SO much use out of the gameplay of living in tiny houses. They're a fun challenge to build and live in especially with a family and the buffs you get are a really nice reward

Tiny Living gives soooo much content. The tiny home trait is incredibly broken for gameplay, and while the items are obviously really good for small spaces, they just look good and fit in so many houses in general. Like the big shelf that combines the stereo/TV/bookshelf--it's appropriate for a ton of houses, not just tiny ones! Or that bathroom shelf, I use that all the time.

Honestly I was really glad when we got the grunge revival kit because I’ve dressed alternatively irl. I also use the first fits kit in like every save where I’ve had a kid sim. Those are definitely my favorite cas kits. I do kinda like that they have some smaller niche things that we can get but also sometimes $5 for just a handful of items feels not worth it unless I really like and would use the items in an every day kind of gameplay.

the fashion street kit was one of the free kits from the epic games bundle. i thought it was so random and that i would never use it. but now i actually really like it? my favorite items are the tank top with the big arm holes, and the baggy shorts. just really fun items for masculine framed sims.

Incheon Arrivals is perfection because it has soo much basic normal clothes 😭 like what people actually wear nowadays on a daily basis. I want one that will be like "basics" that are missing in ts4, because there are a lot of obvious pieces that aren't in the game but instead they add something super extra very often

I think with some of the stuff it also...for instance you say the grunge kit has style that is reminiscent of the werewolves pack. Maybe you like the style of the CAS in that pack but don't have the $$ for that pack or don't want actual werewolves. That is where the grunge kit comes in handy. It's cheaper and gives you that style you're looking for. I know the argument is that its expensive for what you get but some people only have $5 to spare so its helpful in that sense.

Kits have such little content, like you can get an expansion pack for around $15 from 3rd party sellers (or even $20 from EA on sale which happens really often) and you get like 10 times the content. I really wish they came with maybe 100 items or so, as that would make them a lot more worthwhile

I use grunge revival and moonlight chic an obnoxious amount. Probably because they most closely resemble my own style, and its hard to detach my personal style from my sims. I also use poolside splash a lot because i hate all the basegame swimwear 😂. That being said, I'd love to see more grunge/punk/goth fashion in the game. I know vampires is gothic inspired, but its very old fashioned gothic, whereas I really want a more modern goth pack. Not to mention, dont get me started on how badly I want a Y2K themed pack..

Yay been waiting for this, as I get paid Friday and want to buy some kits, I know which build ones I want that all my favourite builders use. So now I need to know what's good with CAS ones lol, so thanks for this! 😊🥰 I now have it confirmed to buy Moonlight chic and First Fits, they were the ones I was liking the look of, and seeing more of them, I want them even more! 😊 I did go for Grunge straight away, I wanted the vans lol, I love the oversize hoodie and the crop top lol I'm still on the fence with poolside splash kit, it does look cute for kids, and I love the shirt, but feel like I'll buy other kits before it lol This was very helpful, I don't build but I like other simmers builds, yours especially lol, so I like to get content for my sims and their builds, so thanks again! 😊🥰

I would love to see a pack ranking video (no kits) based purely on functionality. Not, do you like the aesthetic,but does it have something for every room. Does it have items that meet all the sims needs? Can you make a functional bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, living room. Ranking levels: Mansion: meets all needs, plus wallpaper, flooring, lighting, windows, and doors. Starter Home: it makes a functional home, but is missing one or more wallpaper, flooring, lighting, windows doors. Rags to riches: it is technically functional (maybe you have a public toilet or a bush, but no real toilet. Or a grill but no oven, or a cooler instead of a fridge, or a couch but no bed etc) Touch of base (does not meet one sim need e.g. cottage living has no toilet) Turn up the base : 2 or 3 needs can't be met from the pack alone All about the base: means you can't met more than 3 needs. Social can either be ignored, or counted as CAS/a way to access CAS

the grunge revial kit is the only CAS kit I have ever bought and I love it! I use those items more than anything! With that being said, it's probally because I don't have wearwolfes. I'm not really interested in wearwolfes tho, and never have been, but always thought the CAS from that pack was some of the coolest CAS in the game. So, in my opionon, it's actully really nice to have a kit that is similar in style to a big pack, but without the gameplay, because people like me, who don't care for the gameplay but love the style is able to get it:)

There's maybe two items from the Modern Menswear kits that I use occasionally for male sims. I actually find I use it more with androgynous presenting female or enby sims, but even then, it's pretty rare.

I like the kits personally. I like having the option of getting smaller, more niche items, and considering they’re split into build/buy and cas separately, you don’t have to get the ones/stuff you don’t want ☺️👌🏼 they come to like $8CAD , which is a couple of coffees and definitely worth it to me personally. I see why people would prefer them to be cheaper, and I agree, but I’m still happy with the cost of these compared to the other types of packs

I can't believe the grunge revival and simtimates didn't rank higher, 'cause I use those propably the most! xD the modern menswear might be the only cas kit I don't have and I think that says it all :DDD I love cas kits that have very "mundane" clothes, as in cothes for everyday use as well as stuff for the most common events in the sims, like fancy dresses etc. For example my sims don't really got to the Carnevale often (more like never) xD

the grunge kit is completely different from the werewolf pack! i use all the items frequently, i have to stop myself from using it for sims that have the opposite aesthetic just cause i love it so much. my only issues are that i wish there was more stuff like it, and a lot of it isn't actaully that grungey, more like urban outfitters stuff lol but still cute. i like cas items that aren't so polished and that look a bit worn-in, wrinkly, frayed, like something that's been owned and worn frequently for a while. i also like pieces that look thrifted and unique! i can never seem to find enough of the rare cas and cc clothes that actually look like clothes i can afford and like to wear. and layered stuff too!

I reaaally hope the Gothic kit comes with a nice kilt for male sims! I feel like kilts are quite popular in goth fashion (or at least have been), so I hope they pick up on that. Also, I kinda get the feeling that the Country Kitchen and Grunge Revival kits might have been assets (or concepts) that were made for Cottage Living and Werewolves respectively, but were scrapped because they had to many items and but the Sims team liked them so they wanted to release them anyway. I have no idea if that is actually the case, but it make sense to me 😅 The Grunge Revival is the only cas kit I have because I use cc, but I think that it is really good! It's a nice alternative for people who want the aesthetic but don't want werewolves, plus the werewolf items all have wolf-themed patterns, which is fine but I don't want it on every grungy sim.

Honestly, I never bought many CAS packs, I think I only have 1, I also like gameplay and building better, and to be honest, the base game has such great clothes! I never looked at the items in the CAS kits, so I don't know what I'm missing out on, though.
