Final Fantasy is a series that means a lot to me and I realized that I haven't really mentioned it much on this channel. So, with this video, I will be ranking the main series Final Fantasy games from my least favorite to my favorite.

Nice video! Thank you for not worshipping the FF7 Remake. I played through the whole thing and found it to be a slog and incredibly boring. No interest in playing Rebirth myself (also don’t have a PS5). Here is what my list would be: 1. FF9 2. FF Tactics (not mainline, I know, but SO GOOD!!) 3. FF13 4. FF6 5. FF4 6. FF10 7. FF8 8. FF5 9. Ff13 combat system is superb. The second half of the game was a blast. But 1st half was boring as hell.

XV is amazing, and its also a disaster. Its the most ambitious Final Fantasy game, and its got chunks missing and eventually the extra DLC got cancelled.

FF2 escaped bottom 3!? That's a 1st 😂 I absolutely hated XV. Worst combat in the series, so many characters that didn't get enough screen time and the worst pacing in series. The party and how they interact with the world was arguably the best. Another issue with 15 tho is the giant & empty world full of gas stations & hunter camps unfortunately with only 2 cities/towns

The only mainline Final Fantasy games I have not played are XI, XII, XIV, and XVI. I'm probably never going to play the two mmos because well, they are mmos. lol I own XII on the PS4 and will play it at some point. XVI just doesn't look appealing to me, so who knows. Maybe I will play it one day. Totally agree with you about preferring turn based combat. The argument that it is dated just doesn't make any sense because look at all of the other turn based rpgs that are still releasing today. I honestly think Final Fantasy would benefit from going back to that while also adopting more of an anime art style instead of the ultra realistic graphics. It's always nice to see someone speak highly of II, III, V. I consider them to be the forgotten Final Fantasy games because most people have either never played them, dismiss them because they are "old," or in II's case, complain about the combat system. I love them all and consider II to be the best of NES games and V to be the best of the SNES games. Wow, it's very interesting to see XV so high because I know many people aren't very fond of that one. I didn't play it at launch and instead played the Royal Edition with all of the dlc and enjoyed it as well. After recently replaying VI, yup, it really is one of the greatest games ever made. I'm not not the biggest fan of VII. I always thought VIII and IX were better than it and am one of the crazies who likes Remake more (haven't played Rebirth yet). Final Fantasy X is not only my favorite Final Fantasy game, but my favorite game of all time. My top two Final Fantasy games are X and VIII. My third favorite is constantly changing, but I think right now it is V. Great video man!

So, I know this is your opinion, and to each their own, but I can't help but comment anyway. 13. Cliche characters, terrible story, terrible gameplay, hated it. 15. Put a bunch of the story in the website, and the comic, and the anime, and in the logs in the menu... WTF REALLY hard to believe that 13 could actually be worse... but it is. 16. Is this a Final Fantasy game... am I play a darksouls rip-off... oh I am FUCKING HATE IT. 7. Remake is a joke, You put Nomura in charge and he put the whispers in an FF game, you know he uses that plot device in Kingdom hearts right... I WANTED A GODDAMN FINAL FANTASY GAME, not Final Kingdom Hearts... What a joke. 9. Yes, I know every Final Fantasy fan LOVES 9, I hate it. I liked the more grown-up themes in FF7, and FF8, for me 9 was a step backward inn storytelling THAT I ABSOLUTELY HATED. 8. Junctioning was crap, not the idea, just the I have to draw 100, for 6 characters, which takes an hour... THAT IS THE ONLY THING WRONG WITH THE GAME... Fix that and FF8 is a 9/10, great characters, great story, great music, amazing graphics for its time, fix the junctioning and this is a 9/10. 7. The original FF7 was a masterpiece, 9.5/10 6. Again, masterpiece 9.5/10 10. 9.95/10 near perfection, I still play it to this day. awesome characters, awesome graphics, awesome character progression, awesome combat, awesome music and cutscenes, there is almost nothing to complain about here, the closest to perfection that Final Fantasy has come so far. 12. This on was in development hell a long time, despite that it's amazing. Let me explain. VAUN IS NOT THE MAIN CHARACTER, THIS IS NOT HIS STORY. The story of this game is the story of Basch and Ashe, Vahn and Penelo are just insert characters there so you can see these events unfold threw their eyes... If you accept that this game is a 9/10 11 and 14 are MMO's and not mainline games FIGHT ME. 1-5 are NES/SNES and have to be judged on their own sort of scale. TACTICS Final Fantasy Tactics is the best game in the series, 10/10, absolute perfection. Yasumi Matsuno is a fucking genius game designer, even better than Sakaguchi. Final Fantasy tactics is almost as good as Tactics Ogre and Ogre Battle, and those are also 10/10 perfect games. Yasumi Matsuno is probably one of the 10 greatest game designers in all of gaming history and FF TACTICS IS A MAGNUM OPUS. FF started off in the early days and Square created the template for what RPG should be, they set the standards by which all rpg were judged. As things went on, they redefined the formulae by adding in character and story elements that no one had ever really put into a console rpg... The gameplay evolved with the ATB system but it wasn't the draw, you played Final Fantasy to get lost in an Epic Story with unforgettable characters as they traverse a living breathing believable fantasy world and you get swept up in the adventure. There was a time when Final Fantasy was the measuring stick by which all other rpg's were judged. That time is long past and they have become a soulless corporate entity like Ubisoft, but if you were there in the beginning, you remember what they used to be, one of the greatest game studios ever to exist.

I didn't play any of 14's expansions. I only played the ARR content then kinda fell off the game as I said in the video. I did mention that I heard the expansions were very good, but I can't see myself ever getting around to them as MMOs are just not really my kind of thing
