Just a minor pet peeve but I noticed you used the exact same footage for Vanilla Lake 1 and Vanilla Lake 2 when Vanilla Lake 1 doesn't have that giant lake in the middle of the track. Also, in Bowser Castle 2 you're supposed to use a feather to jump over that dead end as a very effective shortcut.

There's plenty of tracks I didn't remember until I saw them again in this video. At least he recognized the power of normal jumps for getting over the small gaps, which is pretty easy to overlook except in the one track where it's required.

Your #89, Koopa Troopa Beach, will always be my favorite. I can remember being 6 or so years old, sitting down with my dad and my big brother, and THAT was dad’s stage. His favorite, we’d play it for hours to see who could stop the others from getting the shortcut, who could make the fastest lap, all of it. What good memories.

I'm happy that my favorite track placed so high. 3DS Rainbow Road was my first Rainbow Road, and it's just gorgeous. On SNES Mario Kart there's an item called a feather, which is used to super jump over certain gaps. The dead end on SNES Bowser Castle 2 should only be used if you have a feather.

Am I the only one that thinks Yoshi Falls is extremely underrated? Me and my friends always have a blast on it, trying to force each other onto the long waterfall that you can't clear without a mushroom (or without losing a significant amount of time). It's either that or getting hit with whatever item we have. Idk maybe it's just me, but I like it and seem to be the only one, as it always ends up at the back of rankings. I have never heard anyone say something good about it.

@@laurencepalmer1272 I have so many nostalgic memories from playing 7. Why on earth they picked Toad Circuit, easily the worst new track from 7, for the Booster Pass baffles me. Wuhu Loop, 3DS Bowser’s Castle, Shy Guy Bazaar, Rock Rock Mountain, Maka Wuhu, or 3DS Rainbow Road - I would be happy with any of those, but Maka Wuhu is probably the one I want most for the Booster Pass. That ending sunset in HD would be gorgeous.

Was stoked to see Mount Wario at #5. It's my personal favorite track of all time from the games I've played. I love the feel, the variety, the fact that it's a single downhill adventure instead of a repeating lap... the start and ending both fell appropriately epic.... just everything I could ask for from a Mario Kart level.

Definitely one of the best Mario Kart 8 tracks, It displays the game mechanics so well. Antigravity on the dam, a great glider shortcut, Trees for difficulty, edgy cliffs at the start, and too many ways to trick and so many great spots to drift (especially on "lap" 3).

Might not be my favorite track to play on, but I absolutely love Dragon Driftway's OST. It's probably the only Mario Kart music I listen to while doing other things. But it makes sleeping a bit tough, since I always get pumped up when doing it XD But alas, congratulations on managing to finish this video! I can't even begin the comprehend the amount of effort and time put into this while keeping it entertaining and easy to follow. Surprised to the a DS track get the top spot of all things! Not as surprised to see all the SNES and GBA tracks on the lower rankings tho. Mario Kart is a series that keeps its core mechanics very faithful to its roots and keeps improving itself with each new game. All the new mechanics keep adding up to allow for more interesting track designs and don't feel like annoying gimmicks that take away from the experience. Even some of the older tracks become a lot more enjoyable with their remakes on Retro Cups when designed around them. Yeah the remakes aren't always kind to the track (see GCN Yoshi's Track), but it's still nice to see them with a new touch of paint. Again, congratulations for the video, and I hope we can continue to see this series growing up!
