Resistance 2 online was amazing! You'd have like groups of 30 dudes trying to take down these giant monsters that looked like they came from the pit of hell. Oftentimes you would catch a lot of Japanese dudes playing online and they're really not even into shooters like that!

The reason why you had HP regen in Resistance 2 is beacsue of the Chimera Virus changing Hale. the green substance from those medipacks was created inside of him natrually. And in R3 Joseph is just human. in R1 Hale's transformation was jsut beggining. EDIT: Resistnace 2 had one of the best co op modes ever made. the classes were balannced and yet simple. good rewarding progression and good misisons.

Wishfull thinking but the actual reason is that CODs way of health regen became mainstream and popular. so tdevelopers adopted it so as everyone else, lol!!!

Well while Hale adopted Chimera powers, he adopted them in R1, there was light regeneration on the 4 bars of health. So yeah there wasn't really a good reason to remove all boomer shooter aspects and have full health regen.

The "Infection mode" for the Retribution is dope as hell. it changed the story drastically. You start as a sentinel and you are infected. outright yellow eyes and SRPA gear. I beat the game (it legit launched on my 10th or 11th birthday, idk the year) mallory, your companion for most of that game, hates you more, you have characters actually comment on your status and you regen health. it was a cool feature that they didn't need to impliment. it also gave you skins for the online.

Retribution is the best story imo. The Cloven were such an interesting introduction, and I wish we got more on them. I also wish we got to meet the living ghost.

I miss Resistance so much. I spent hours on top of hours grinding the amazing coop and competitive multiplayer on Resistance 2 which for me is my favourite from sheer time spent together. Currently revisiting this amazing game series as I love every entry and can’t wait to get to Resistance 3 as at the time I didn’t like it as much as 2. Also just wanted to point out that in Resistence 1 you partially regen health as Hale has just been infected and been granted very low regeneration, in Resistance 2 he’s much further along and thus can fully regenerate from wounds given he has time and the wounds aren’t too great and in Resistance 3 regen is gone as you’re just human. I loved how the health mechanics were tied to the infection, heck there was no regen in Resistance Retribution unless you “infected” your psp using Resistance 2, you’d be granted Resistance 1 level regen! No games do stuff like this now! Lastly great vid and I find your ranking very different to my own, however interesting nonetheless!

Definitely disagree about Killzone Mercenaries just being ok. Game was phenomenal, still is! Only real issue is a lackluster story that is mostly just going through the motions, but mission design, replayability and PvP multiplayer were top notch.

Loved this series! Fall of man was always my favorite! I disagree character wise, I think Hale was a better protagonist. True he didn’t have much of a personality, but he wasn’t paid to, he was a soldier with a job to do. Accomplishing the mission was his sole focus. Forgive my rant.

8:49 - I can't lie, that's definitely the case here, having just beaten it on Difficult (and I mean earlier today), I can attest there were a fair few bullshit moments where I didn't get a chance to survive, but a lot of my deaths also boiled down to poor planning and positioning, but you learn and you improve.

Resistance2 was definitely the best of the resistance franchise the online modes were phenomenal especially the up to 8 player co-op mode which was the game of year co-op mode that year

Honestly, for me, 2 was the worst one by far. Aside from the stupid two weapon limit, the oversaturated and contrasted graphics along the extremely narrow FOV made me dizzy. Mix that with a badly told, generic linear campaing full of bullet sponge enemies, and we have a not very good game. Playing local co-op missions with a friend was fun, though.

Resistance 3 needs a remaster. The game would look great in a high resolution at 60fps. Too many ps3 generation titles are completely stuck on the ps3. Killzone 2 also was incredible and still looks better than many modern games from a lighting, animation and environmental detail standpoint. Resistance 2 was a big improvement over 1’s multiplayer but the campaign of R2 was rough, the set piece moments were cool but a lot of it felt unfinished and the two weapon limit really sucked in sp.

I don't know if I'm weird but I genuinely enjoyed Burning Skies. If you enjoy the Resistance series, play it, it is very above average. The only thing that sucks is its length. If it had a couple more hours to the game I would put it up there with the main titles.

Main issue with Burning Skies for me is the broken cover system. It had an auto take cover mechanic when you were near walls, except even after you've come out of cover, the game still thought you were in cover. You could stand mostly in the open and let enemies shoot you all day and you would never die. Your screen just turned red. That's on the highest difficulty too. A lot of people didn't notice because they think oh my screen is red I must be taking damage.

Ok, I played the PS vita title and I didn’t find it all that bad, it only needed an few proper tweaks…. Also I beat titles 1-3 on PS3 because I was trying to use the strife motion method successfully at times ( ie using an Ratchet and Clank game trick, though difficult it can be done….) so I’ve played those 4 games…

Loved resistance fall of man. Unlocked new weapons after beating normal mode. Which unlocked new weapons on hard mode. Beat that & unlocked a God mode lol. Very fun. Very memorable campaign. Def not easy like today FPS games.

As for Ps3, I enjoyed 2 and 3. Never got the chance to play 1. I wish I did. I still have a ps3 but I wish the ps3 controller was better because I'm so use to using better controllers like the ps4 and ps5. I would definitely consider buying all 3 in the future. I just don't know if a remastered is even possible 😢

I have never played the PSP games of this Francis, I bought a PS3, and I have played the trilogy lately, I can honestly say that R3 is the best from the campaign point of view, But it's too simple, I did seven levels before I die, the weapons are too easy to use, the Kimera die too few hits, R2 is true it is punitive, but it is better balanced, You cannot carry more than 2 weapons it is true, but it is also true that you always find the weapons you need if necessary, and above all it has a good story, dynamic campaign with many different situations, (second only to R3) adversely to the first chapter which is very embarrassing, the only thing that is saved is the gunplay, and the vehicle sessions, it is true there is the but they are very boring

Not at all. There's honestly a lot of times I disagree with Johnathan and this is one. The 3rd one is by far the weakest one and yeah story was never a strong suite even in any of them. R1 is definitely the best, its colour is admittedly drab but its level design and combat flow is much more engaging. 3s level design is okay but often it does this thing where you can't progress to one place without being side tracked by another area, it ends up feeling unnatural in regards to progress. Also 1 & 2s weapons are more interesting, 3 has a lot of the safe favourites and the ones they add are not the most useful.
