The Invisibility Cap would be kind of cool IF enemies couldn't see Mario either. It would actually give you a reason to replay the levels just to screw with all the enemies. Part of the problem with the outfits is that they don't serve any kind of function beyond aesthetics and getting people in the game to give you Power Moons. But if I have the swimsuit on, wouldn't it be cool if I could swim better or at least last longer underwater? And if I have on the Football Uniform, wouldn't it be cool if the padding gave me extra hit points? Things like that. I'm not trying to sound like a sourpuss. Quite the opposite. Its kind of got me excited for an Odyssey 2 where they take that into consideration and do more with the outfits.

I don’t know how many people know this, but you can wear the Aviator Outfit in the Snow Kingdom and it grants the same effect that wearing the Snow Suit does. Meaning that if you wear it when you first arrive at the Snow Kingdom, you won’t have to make Mario shiver from the cold. Cappy still comments on the cold though.

What really makes the samurai helmet so great is that it references the real life samurai, Sanada Yukimura. He’s often depicted as wearing a helmet with antlers on them, as the one in the game has. This is driven even further home by the six coins on the helmet, as six coins is the emblem for the Sanada clan. For the base ball helmet, many helmets only have 1 ear guard because only 1 side of your head is facing the pitcher, so only that 1 side needs protection.

Arthur Schuster Think it’s more because 52 is more of a “just another Mario” look where as he says “Mario but orange” while #9, #8, and #7 are references to characters, so it holds some more value, and actually changes around the color than keeping the regular Mario color palette (as in not the exact color, but a variant of it, red, blue, etc. to be honest if they made his hair blue I probably would think it would be more valuable)
