Another advantage to the herb trinket is you can max out your satchel fairly quickly then sell the herbs to a doctor-which also counts towards an award that can be reset for .4 gold each time.

The Beaver Tooth Trinket feels like it needs to have a higher percentage level to slow down Gun Rust.

It seems to be glitched or something. Sometimes I can shoot 100 bullets with my Lemat revolver without getting more than 10-15% gun rust sometimes it's around 50-55%.

Whatever you do dont go in swamp water while having your weapons out it takes a few minutes to rust the whole weapon

The best trinket is almost any of the areas affected by trinkets before the naturalist update. I swear even with the trinket, things like weapon degradation is worse than it used to be.

After buying the Buck trinket I’ve definitely noticed a difference. Before it was almost a rare event for me to shoot a 3 star animal and not find it had degraded to 2 no matter where I had shot it. Now I’m getting 3 stars much more regularly.

I was just looking at Gus' store trinkets yesterday. Also, Rockstar please keep the lobbies like this. Five players and then some times it goes to two, or even a solo lobby. The game is like running perfectly now. Do not patch! I don't want to go back to crowded lobbies and disconnects.

With the weapon degradation trinket I've done some limited testing with the Carcano rifle both with and without a wrap and from my testing, it seems that the bonuses do not stack as the weapon degrades at the same rate. Don't take this as gospel mind as I could be wrong or it could be bugged but from my testing, it would seem one gets cancelled out, So it is my theory that the Trinket is a replacement for the wrap for those who have carvings on their weapons so that they can also get a benefit of 10%.

This was tested and it does stack. It goes from 200 shots to 250 shots I believe for repeaters, PVP cat tested it idk the exact details

I've noticed a few differences from buying the trinkets, i already have wraps on my guns, so no improvement there, but my pelts seem to be either good or perfect more often when hunting. I find i save more time when searching for mint and oregano, so thats good. And i can see the benefit of the 10% horse bonding increase when buying a new horse, and i feed my horse regularly anyway so i haven't noticed any difference regarding it's stamina. But i also use ability cards like friends for life, so my horses already have the best protection the game can offer. So there's pros and cons, but the biggest con are the trinket prices.

Is anyone else also running into small lobbies where players are just straight up giving away their legendary animals? One player specifically was following me while they were in defensive mode and gave me a legendary fox, Wolf and bison to skin throughout the day

I gave the legendary Onyx wolf to some random player about 4 days ago. I haven't had any problems finding the legendary animals (I have caught 20 so far) so now I just give them away lol.

In the past week alone I have spent maybe 5-6 of the days in a solo lobby. I have been playing this game since the beta release and I have never been in a lobby by myself. Which brought me to youtube to make sure RDO didn’t just up and die in the last few days. I would be upset normally, but getting all the events and legendary animals I could want to look for has given me plenty to do. But yeah, I wouldn’t mind seeing another player from time to time tho

Online feels more like story mode. I'm seein so many animals dynamic events happen way more often. It all just feels more alive. Yeah I noticed the lobbies are ALOT smaller now but I honestly don't mind it at all if this is how it's going to be now 😁 I went with the trinket to improve my pelts btw 👍

When i bought the Gypsy Cob it took a really short time to rank it up. Especially since patting and brushing the horse gives you bonding points now. As far as the herb trinket if it doubled up all herbs I'd buy it but since it only doubles the 3 most common herbs found in bunches of 3 to 4, really what's the point. If it gave me 2 times yarrow and ginseng i woulda bought it.

the ram horn and the buck antler are the only ones i got because its the only ones i see worth it. with the 2x wild mint i can get 2 plants for picking one making it easier to craft minty big game meat and with the better chance of perfect pelts it will be easier to fill up crips.

This is purely anecdotal, but I would say the beaver tooth trinket effect does stack with the wraps. I have noticed I'm cleaning a little less often. Edit: I do not recommend buying any at full price, rather wait for markdowns. That's when I bought mine.

I have all the trinkets and have seen the buck antler trinket improve the quality of pelts exactly once out of a hundred or so kills. Would be great if it actually worked. In story mode if you shoot a 3 star squirrel or bird with a varmint rifle you get about a 50-50 chance it will improve it enough to still be a three star. But in online, it's never happened to me.

Yeah, I don't understand what this trinket is supposed to actually do or how it works. If I find a 3* animal and take it down with a properly placed shot using proper weapon and ammo, I get a 3* pelt, so what does this trinket do exactly? And LOL, I've been playing for almost a year and have shot 100s of 3* squirrels with a bow and small game arrow. But... I have NEVER gotten a 3* squirrel pelt though, haha! So frustrating. I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. I can't imagine this trinket helping though. It doesn't seem like a chance based system, but more about using the right weapon, ammo and hitting the animal in the right spot.

I’ve only bought the pelt quality trinket and the 2x plant trinket everything else seems bit too pricey for the benefits they provide they should be a bit stronger imo. Hopefully they add some new trinkets later on but let’s be real we are all just waiting on that first Legendary Bear mission from Harriot I just hope it’s a bit more in depth unlike the incredibly easy Legendary Alligator they added last week.

The trinket that yields twice as much mint, oregano and thyme is cool, but notice you still have to pick those herbs 5 times to get that daily challenge, so technically you get your gold/xp for picking 10 herbs instead of 5. Also, this is unrelated but I guess they fixed the bug that allows you to store like 50 gator skins in your hunting wagon, which sucks, but now you can store baby gator carcasses in the wagon whereas before, you could not.

@Hazard I don't understand the description of the buck antler trinket, how is there a chance of getting a perfect pelt from an animal? I thought the way the system works is that you only get perfect pelts if you find 3 star animals in the wild and kill them with the right calibre while minimizing damage to the body? What chance or RNG is the trinket actually affecting?

I'm guessing either if its a 2 star when you skin it there's a chance you actually pull a 3 star pelt, OR (despite the description being strange) it gives you a higher chance of getting 3 star spawns. Because you are right you have to take your weapon and where you shoot it into account. I doubt youll get a 3 star pelt from a 1 star animal for example. But the bonus is coming from somewhere whether its the animal spawn or the pelt you skin regardless of the animal quality.

The trinkets are useless except for the ram horn trinket for the two times herbs. I swear the gun trinket makes them degrade faster. The buck antler trinket has worked once for me.

I would rank them exactly like you. Absolutely. But about the Horse Meal Pamphlet, there is 2 major bugs. The first bug is if you use Fast travel, then will the horse loose the golden core. Always! And thats even from Emerald Station to the Moonshine Shack in the Heartlands. A 1$ travel and the horse will loose it's golden core. The second bug is when you make the Horse Meal. The game allows you to make one more than you actually need. Not very smart!!

I have to disagree with the horae core trinket, I constantly have to feed my horse because both cores drain constantly, and I do it way more than the bars around the cores which are usually at 100%

Horse meal makes my saddle lose all its benefits and the stamina bar drains ways quicker than usual.... I also get a glitch where my horse's stamina won't refill fully unless I dismiss the horse then recall it but that has nothing to do with the horse meal.. that's just an irritating glitch

Also I was away when G* released their last patch .And my nephew has my PS 4 Pro and access to all my Games .Hope they work now as many things don't still and there's better Games to play then this mess .But to be fair I hear things have finally got better as PS5 is coming. The only trinket that seems to be working for me is the one that gives you 2x mint, thyme & Oregano. So that's in my #1 spot for me. I have all trinkets.

Iv slaughtered so many beavers trying to get 2 teeth to make the trinket but can't find any when I skin them. Idk why im having such a tough time finding 2 teeth.

I think you missed the real advantage regarding weapon degradation. Before the trinket you had to choose between weapin wraps and role skins. I do disagree with one point t new players may want to purchase the horse bonding trinket as soon as possible since they don't have all horses

What with? It takes no time at all to bond to lvl 4, pat, lead, brush and feed. Took me about 3 hours. Plus you don't have any money for some time, wasting it on a trinket which is then no use seems a waste. WouLdn't be too bad if you could sell items no longer of use, as you can in a lot of games (or can you?).

They’re passive and they are automatically applied once you buy it. So you can have them all active yes
