Your list seems very misguided Like how are Lebron, Kawhi and Jokic higher than Lillard and Paul George? Lebron should not be on the list, everything he does now is just bonus. Kawhi won a chip after leaving SA and has already semented his legacy. And Jokic is not under pressure. If he underperform this year, then next year sure there's pressure
@whatshorts6 ай бұрын
That's a good point and I think I'm just influenced by whatever I'm hearing. I think some of the older vets are less interesting. I don't hear a lot of people talking about PG, Dame, and Harden's championship aspirations. what's your order?
@leo_wentzel5 ай бұрын
Why're people mad at this list lmao, it's literally just a list on who you think has the most pressure to win like it aint that deep

Sucks being a sixers fan tbh. Embiid is arguably the best in the game rn, but never gets the chance to show it. On top of him always being injured the cap space has been eaten up by him and Tobias Harris the last 5 years. As a Sixers fan I feel like the Sixers havent done a good enough job of building around Embiid and his weaknesses. I'm not willing to write off Embiid until the Sixers sign a competent squad like we had this year, but with proper contracts and not a dud in the 2nd supermax. Sixers were barely losing to the Knicks with Tobias dropping like 10 points a game. Can you imagine if all that money spent on him went to 2 or 3 guys who could provide just as much? I think things would look different.

Sometimes it's fun to get the blood boiling. I don't think Embiid has the mentality to get passed the second round. I'd like to be proven wrong though.

Embiid should be number 1
@whatshorts6 ай бұрын
I think he should too. It feels like people are expecting him to fizzle every year at this point in his career.

Maybe you could add KD to that list, that's a guy a lot of people think has somthing to prove without Curry.
@whatshorts6 ай бұрын
on second thought I'd probably pop Jaylen Brown out and put KD above Dame. subject to change

Tatum’s way too high at 1. The goal posts have moved farther for him (or closer idk I’m losing the analogy) than any player in the NBA post-LeBron, following the Celtics ECF run his rookie season. Embiid, Dame, Harden, PG and even Westbrook all have much more pressure in terms of what it would mean to their legacy, as well as the amount of time they have left in their careers. Tatum’s an ironman who is arguably still not in his prime. He is being penalized by shit-stirrers like Kendrick Perkins for being drafted by a competent franchise. It seems you’ve bought that narrative too.
@whatshorts6 ай бұрын
You're probably right. I watch a lot of NBA today. From what I hear, it seems like a lot people have written off the Clippers. maybe I'm wrong.
@tim.noonan6 ай бұрын
@@whatshortsWiritng a team off for a postseason doesn’t mean that they deserve a pass - if anything the pressure should multiply. This is what I’m talking about with expectations being all over the place. Why should the Clippers be given a pass of some sort, if all of a sudden they’re not a contender (I don’t believe that but that’s how your comments read to me)? That’s completely backwards, and to me feels like people want to cater their expectations for certain stars so that their own mental hierarchy of NBA players doesn’t change. Basically people are seeking confirmation of their biases and they don’t want to admit that Tatum is great as he is, right now, and has more runway than most young stars and even superstars to continue to improve his game. I think there’s also a subconscious aspect of non-Celtics fans wanting any and every reason for them to not be a championship contender in their mind, so if their #1 isn’t that guy, then it’s easier to write them off. Because it’s not a good look when the team with a million championships won against mailmen, and with more than a few overtly racist fans, is the one on top.

@@whatshortsDon’t let this guy bully you into believing that Tatum has not choked for three years straight. Celtics have had a Championship caliber team for at least three years and have consistently made the playoffs more. They are easily and have reliably been the most talented team in the NBA for years. People keep giving excuses for their age and they continue to bend the roster around the Jays and they concede plenty of games in series’ to a Miami team full of nobodies. And yet the Celtics are perpetual favorites.

No way Embiid has eclipsed Giannis - certainly Jokić, but not the dude who has never made it past round 2 and who has consistently seen drops in playoff production
@whatshorts6 ай бұрын
As a regular season dude. Giannis gets taken for granted as a star during the regular season
