Something about N is that he wins all the battles and becomes champion without training any pokemon, N literally takes some wild pokemons nearby, makes friends with them and ask them to battle for him.

@@commaGarbage my guess is that he got them from team plasma scientists, since in a post game event a team plasma scientists talks about how he and his team resurrected a fossil Pokemon and turned it into Genesec. So if they could revive and transform a fossil Pokemon once, I'm guessing they could do it more times.

I love N as a character, but as a trainer I dont respect him. Getting a legendary and beating the elite 4 and the champ this way I did when I was 12, whereas most other rivals on the list had to actually work to achieve their strength.

It's still really annoying how we don't get to see what Nemona's true strength is, seeing how Geeta clearly knows how strong she is when she comments how she noticed Nemona holding back on Geeta. Nemona holding back to a champion contender (at the time) so hard that her opponent noticed the handicap in the middle of the fight is honestly one of the most badass thing I've seen in Pokemon. Also kinda weird how Arven's request of "We need someone to be the champion in order to reach Area 0" is considering the person he's talking to is basically the obsession of an ex-champion. Our character could've easily convinced Nemona to tag along.

also that it's stated at the start of the game that she won't use any of her strongest pokemon against you, and you can see that instead she's training up a team as your progress. With the exception of a few oddballs like dundunsparce that show up out of nowhere, you have no idea what her original team was. And here talk of 'oh what if I use THESE pokemon?' the way I ran Scarlet is that along with my core team of 6, I have an entire box of pokemon within 10 levels of the core team that I can use in raids or quickly get to level to use against gyms and the like. Would be cool if she could change her team up like I do.

What I like about N, and what I think makes him more dangerous, is that he's innocent enough to believe what he was doing is the right thing. When the player beats him in the final battle, he actually concedes, and begins trying to rethink everything he's been taught. Losing turned his views completely on it's head, and then his 'father' comes in, berates him, and suddenly everything makes sense. N needs the biggest possible hug.

It's even sadder when you look at his father's team. It was designed to specifically counter N after he did all his dirty work.

@@wrightl.graves3080And (in B2W2, at least) it has a max-power Frustration (which increases in power the less the Pokémon likes its trainer), holds a Life Orb (which increases its attack power but also drains its HP every time it lands a hit), and is significantly underleveled relative to where it should be to even become a Hydreigon (which lore suggests only happens if the trainer forces an evolution, which is reputedly awful (particularly as seems likely for a Hydreigon- how does a hydra gain a head in mythology?)). Taken together, the whole thing tells a really sad story in which Ghetsis seriously abuses his Hydreigon in order to better use it as a tool. On the other hand, his right eye and arm seem at least very damaged, so maybe the Hydreigon has at some point gotten a bit of revenge on its genuinely evil trainer. It really is incredible how the game designers managed to tell such a clear story with so few design choices. Gen 5 supremacy!

Yeah N really is no debate for me. He beat one of the most if not the most menacing elite 4 and mopped the floor with Alder. We don’t know what level Alders Pokemon were against N but he either was so strong he got Alder to train which is impressive by itself or he beat the shit out of Alders team with not only a 20 level difference but also seemingly without breaking a sweat. Either way N was an absolute menace

Deepening on the DLC I think Nemona can be his competition. Strongest trainer in her region, holds back against the champion, not intimidated by legendaries, battle crazy, raises a new team from scratch to challenge the league and still comes out with the highest levels. She also states she has numerous high level teams ready to use whenever she wants.

I agree with most of this list, I think I would personally put Hop in at least Elite 4 (without Zacian/Zamazenta) because he definitely struggled after taking that loss to Bede, but he’s still a prodigy and he does very good once he gets himself back together after. His Pokémon were pretty strong but even counting his legendary (though by that time we are likely over leveled). I’d personallt also put Hugh in Elite 4 because of his experience fighting team Plasma at every chance and he just seems like a really strong trainer.

Yeah Hugh is a really evil team focused rival, but unfortunately game freak left the important battles like ghetsis, kyurem, colress to the player so Hugh basically just beat a bunch of grunts, and probably a shadow triad member. For Hop I think he’s built up to be a pretty strong trainer, but even in the main game he’s the gym leader bracket comes after your final battle with Hop and then He focuses on battles even less, I think he’s the only trainer who’s levels don’t go up for the star tournament, showing he’s no longer battling seriously by the end of the game. Hope my placements make sense if you still disagree it’s cool.

Tbf, while the unbeatable thing was overbearing, Leon is still imo the best champion in terms of character and role. I mean, how did it take us this long to get a champion who's a responsible adult? Dude handles all the region's problems himself, encourages the entire region, is a pillar of support for the region, aims to protect everyone, actually battles the final boss and tries to keep kids out of the conflict. Most champions don't do 90% of this

I think Arven is actually fairly tough in his big story battle, since his quest line offers gives you the upgrade to Mount your more likely to be the first storyline you’ll complete and his battle is a huge spike in level and difficulty compared to the Titans.

This was very entertaining to watch. I never knew about some of the achievements they got and it was honestly cool to see them ranked off achievements instead of levels and how competitive their teams are. I won't lie though, I got really hyped when Nemona appeared cause she was the only one I knew the most about and I agree with her placing. She is very strong, determined, and other things. Probably could have gone higher but honestly, the other two managed to catch legendaries while Nemona never did. Would have been interesting to see how she faired against that second box legendary at the end of the game. Sorry, I'm rambling, good job with the video and I think you were pretty accurate with the ranking.

With the DLC epilogue, Nemona's team are level 83+ and she changed meowscarada's tera type to dark. And she beat Kieran who is no slouch by any means.

The thing about Volo, Rei and Akari is, they were pioneers. They figured out how to train and command their pokemon on their own. Every other rival we have faced has loads of data backing them on their journey. Whether by being related to the regions professor, having tons of technology making things easy to look up and learn what previous generations have already learned and mastered or whatever else. but Volo, Rein and Akari, they had nothing. A couple of people with a basic and very rudimentary understanding of how to battle with pokemon around, but little else. What they were discovering and figuring out, was completely self found and researched. in modern times, there are trainers everywhere you can test yourself against, and gym leaders and such that will test you on how you are growing. literally everyone is a pokemon trainer in the world, and they all have little tid bits of knowledge they can pass on to new, young trainers. Back then, your only source of knowledge is to go out there and risk dying to learn something new. using those near deaths as learning experiences to come back better and stronger. This makes what Volo, Rei and Akari achieved far more impressive to me. They got to a level in at max a couple short years, with no information going into it, what took modern champions and gym leaders years, if not decades of work to do. Imagine that kind of talent in a trainer of the modern era. Especially since they're researchers at their core, so they'd be more than happy to use all the data that is accessible to learn better and more efficient ways to train their pokemon. They'd be basically Leon. So far above other champions they are considered unstoppable, to the point their own champion theme song is the Hall of Fame music, as just getting to face him at all puts you at or above the level of a normal champion.

Yo dog. For the trainers you are unsure if they collected badges or not... You could totally (you could, im too lazy too) check if HMs are required for them to go places. For example. Say, you see them on victory road. But to go to victory road requires you use Strength. Well, now we know that that trainer has acquired at least the gym badge required to use it. Etc. You get what I'm saying. You're a smart cookie. Anyway that's my 2 cents.

Honestly I’ve learned there’s an even easier way. There’s a badge check before the victory road so since you battle silver and the gen 6 rival there. They must of got 8 badges.

Got some theory for the dlc of gen 9 Nemona - you get to battle again her but her original team and if there is a twist that she get a legendary Arven - probably still researching his mother/father origin and probably get a paradox pokemon along a new one on his team depending on the version. He might also try getting the gym badges and beat elite 4 maybe. Penny - not sure but probably trying doing gym challenges along her friends and at the top after elite 4 and try to battle you for championship and maybe introduce a new type of Eevee evolution maybe a dragon type Eevee maybe. It was entertaining watching your tier list base on the achievement of rival which I haven't seen much from other.

yooo this is a great first video! I have one editing tip though and that's to check the audio mixing. there were a few sections where the music was overpowering your voice. maybe run though the video one extra time with headphones to hear how it sounds before uploading or exporting! it'll really help since being able to hear your voice is the most important part of the video. With all that said this was a really good first video! keep up the good work

Yeah Volo’s a really good trainer, the concept of him raising all his Pokémon seems funny to me, I wonder if he did or if he just caught wild fully evolved mons. And the togepi and gible are just to not show off how insane he is.

@@commaGarbage remember, legends arceus (arkoos) is in the distant past, where basically only you (the protagonist) know how to catch Pokémon as you’ve been sent through time from the present day. Volo also has a fairly solid team with spiritomb, roserade, hisuian arcanine, togekiss, lucario and garchomp, along with giratina. And since Giratina has 2 phases, Volo somehow DEFIED THE RULES OF POKÉMON and has 8 POKÉMON.

I'd probably judge Volo on his main team of 6 given that he technically doesn't own Giratina, putting him below Nemona. Also Penny and Arven both are stronger than the Paldean Gym Leaders, so I'd put them in the same Tier. But this is a pretty well researched Video for what it is.

For Volo I don’t really mind rating him as if Girantina was his, the situation reminds me a lot ghetis in B2W2 with Kyurem. If a Pokémon listens to you in battle I think it’s fair game, especially in legends arceus where wardens like Mai never caught her partner munchlax.
