Yeah getting new players is one of sieges problems as of right now considering how difficult it is to learn, it's also extremely hard to teach since it's one of those games that once you learn it, you completely forget how you used to play.

The only bad part of l4d2 is how toxic veterans are to new players. Because so many people have been playing it for years, whenever someone just starting comes in and messes up, they're so quick to flame and kick. Especially in Versus. If you ever meet a new player, warn them to stay away from Versus.

Splitgate fell off because: devs got rid of choosing your game mode (always a bad choice) and the made Comp the only way to just play TDM, then they reset the beta cosmetics if I remember correctly and made the cosmetic system trash, and then didn’t add any content, on top of that I would say poor balancing, I have a clip of me coming into a CTF game a minute after it starts and capturing the flag 3 times in under a minute and winning the game, it’s so stupid how easy it is to just beam people with the default weapons and use your portals to completely break the game. great concept -> horrible execution

Damn you're missing out on Killing Floor 2. The game is honestly amazing. It's a class-based wave-survival PvE. Different weapon specialties per class like firebug uses incinerary weapons and berserker has melee or sawblade launchers. Kill enemies, survive the wave, buy better guns. Boss at the end of every game. There's about 90 weapons across the 9 perks with a large variety of types. Like a double-barrel that fires explosive buckshot everywhere or a flaregun that leaves a trail of flames under it as it flies. There's even a remote detonating harpoon launcher that can pin corpses to walls (one of my favorite weapons).

The problem with rainbow 6 is For those who dont know, gor new players its a night mare You fight for map controll Each side let it be defence or attack Out of 5 you have different roles Like 2 players play as support In attack job of the support players is to get the main wall open and get the bomb planted On defense job of the 2 support players is to make site setup with shotguns and deny the main wall and the plant So for example on attack you play as thermite who is a hard breach who can breach hard walls (there are 2 types of walls in the map hard walls and soft walls, soft walls can be reinforced by defenders) on defense you can play as bandit who has car batteries to attach them to the walls and keep the wall standing 2 Romers on defence play off of each others and waste time for attackers, in attack support players use thir drones to feed live info and clear rooms with a entry fragger behind, job of the entry is to get the map controll neede so the bomb can be planted safely by your support players, all attack players get 2 drones standard, except twich she gets 1 as she has 2 more shock drones in her pocket And in both defence and attack there is a flex player who you know adapts and takes wildcards like flank watch ops or like an electronic detector like IQ to find hidden traps and cams in attack (you do flank watch by using a drone on which your dead teamates can watch) on defense a flex can be like pulse, an intel op or like valk or echo As the situation calls for it, R6 goes for sale a lot, get the operator editon on epic games with 10usd cupon it has all operators you need so you dont have to grind it all or atleast get the deluxe edition on steam Have fun

yeah and that is only the macro aspect of the game. in the smaller perspective, this game is utility simulator and shit load amount of bullshit (punch hole, cross-floor angle, spawnpeak). I peaked plat in Siege and playing the game "traditionally" is somewhat understandable but there are lots of occasions where that one player behind shield/anchoring on a site didn't get flushed ended up pinching you with their flanks. honestly, playing attacker is the most stressful in Siege compared to other FPS. Let's not forget the verticality aspect because low elo players can't plant in consulate's garage for shit cause they don't take control of piano. The game is honestly fun if you put in the time to learn but you gotta deal with so much bullshit and it's not fun.

i am so happy that half-life was put on a for awesome, because it isn't goated since there are times where it can be buggy and times where its age shows. But it's still an awesome game because of how much it changed the gaming industry. If half-life 2 was put on this list, I would say it immediately goes to goated because of, once again, its impact on the gaming industry, and also it still is very fun to play, and it is very hard to find a game-breaking glitch unless your game files are corrupted or something like that. It feels unfair tanking paladins as a shooter when so much of the game is decided by strategy and positioning, due to the massive health pools, Cauterize mechanic, the fact that Healers and Tanks are so powerful, and the card/talent system adding so much versatility to agents that can’t be changed midgame. If you play for shots that sound and feel satisfying, it’s not a game for you. If you play for bigbrain, it’s paradise. A good time now that we’ve past the ob64 era!

Think of r6 like a game of rock paper scissors. Everyone interacts with everyone in some way. You have to learn absolutely all of it. Then you have to learn 3 site setups for every map. Then learn how to attack every setup and every site. Then add the semi challenging gunplay, and 1 shot headshots and it is easily the hardest fps game to get into.

I don't think your bias is showing for Quake. The option in the tier list is probably for the entire franchise and Q3 is considered by many to be the pinnacle of FPS games that's yet to be reached - and this is a take that's not only held by rose-tinted veterans, the game withstands under pretty much every piece of scrutiny even now, which means that its design stands the test of time for two decades, where we saw entire genres live and die and existing genres evolve and change, as well as new approaches that were possible due to hardware progress etc. For a video game (and for an FPS especially, as the genre depends a lot on smoothness and other factors that are kinda era-dependent), this is kinda bonkers, bonus points for it being a competitive game. It's one of the rare games from the list that basically has no major flaws, either in its design or in gameplay, it can pretty much be your cup of tea or not, but as a piece, it stands on its own - AND we don't even have to contextualize it, ie to score it given the year it came out. We can score it with all the new titles in mind, with no restrictions. Rarely has there been a game that was so rock solid and stands the test of time (and perhaps it will never be dethroned either, which is INSANE, as we're talking about a medium that constantly evolves, so it's not like Beethoven never getting "powercrept", games are usually tied to the progress of the medium). MAYBE Brood War or certain fighting games, but that's about it.
