fairness is key, bosses can potentially be dragged down by one shitty mechanic but if they have one major negative and bunch of positives it rarely results in a bad boss in our opinion.

Loved this video, thank you for making it. I absolutely adore Asylum and watching videos like yours has kind of forced me to start thinking more critically about the game which it turns out is really fun and interesting, so thank you for that too ☺️ Totally agree with a lot of what you said in your video, apart from one quite big thing...I really like the Titans, hold on hear me out! I've never thought of them as a boss fight as such. In my head canon they are more just another mechanic/challenge in combat and I like them for building up combos and utilising the freeflow style as much as possible. Plus slapping a Titan while riding the other ones back will always be fun 😁

In my opinion they completely ruined bane and the titan joker titan joker is basically the titan boss fight expect different mechanic i agree with you with Scarecrow being the best because you actually need to STUDY and LEARN from his moves Killer croc isn't actually a good boss fight in my opinion, it's more annoying because you're basically stuck in a maze while he's trying to stop you and the only gadget you have to use everytime is the batarang the titans are basically a joke if you already know their moves, and like i said, they're not good "bosses" they're just annoying, mostly the titan duo's We both can agree that Scarecrow is a good boss fight and that the titan joker is a joke. Also ngl you're pretty underrated

1:28 Honestly the story of Arkham Asylum wasn't that great. The setting is arguably the best part of the game's environment. 2:12 I hate to defend this story, but Joker didn't know the Titan would kill him at this stage. He really didn't have any reason to suspect it would. That being said, he did say his end goal was to kill Batman, and he doesn't even really try to here. 2:17 There was not enough close combat from Joker, the retreat to the rooftops was really lame, and there should really be some consquences if you are going to be showing Gordon being electrocuted repeatedly. 2:32 And Joker was just weird here. I actually like jumbo Joker in "The Batman" but the character really needed to step up his game here in order to be a worthwhile competitor. 5:16 Something similar to the TN-1 boss fight would have been far more memorable than what we got with the first Bane fight. 5:40 I still say Bane would have made a better main antagonist and final boss. It's nice that Arkham Origins brought a little better development to the character though. 7:20 You're also the only one I have enountered who could make the Killer Croc encounter feel boring, so kudos to you. 9:52 9:55 How so? I mean, I get not liking her color scheme, but how would you change it?

I generally wouldn’t call the Titans a normal boss fight, instead I’d say they’re just mini bosses, given the fact that they show up in a few challenge maps, and in the last Scarecrow nightmare sequence

Jack here, I’d say they’re different enough from the generic enemy and in a low enough quantity to qualify as a boss fight. They’re the most mini-boss-esque enemy in the game, but I still think they’re deserving of a spot.

I didn't mind the titan bosses until I played the game on hard. It wasn't difficult but their health is literally 3× more than on easy and 33% more than normal. Which means you need to run them into a wall 3 times before you take away one health bar, especially tedious when there are 2 of them.

Titan Joker was a plot heavy fight, but is a plot tool with disappointing finale lore and just unenjoyable/repetitive gameplay a great final boss? I don’t think so. And I slightly disagree, Croc is a bit TOO long for my tastes but glad you shared your opinion 🤙

At 1:53, I think titan joker versus titan Batman would have been a terrible boss fight because that means rocksteady would have to incorporate new mechanics and controls just for this fight alone which is a pretty short sighted move considering the length of this game. The transformation likely would have shredded Batman’s cowl apart and thus revealing his identity.

While this game is good, I can’t understand how anyone ranks it anywhere but last. It has the worst boss fights, uninteresting gadgets (when compared to later games), and the least interesting rogues gallery. Still a great game on its own tho.

Alex here, I'd say it's my second least favorite. I agree with what you said, although I kinda like the metroidvania-ish feel of it and I found origins to be not very fun outside of a few levels like the hotel and bosses like Firefly and Deathstroke so I'd rank it below asylum personally

Jack here, it’s probably my second favorite to be honest. Sure, it’s clunky, not as engaging as the later games and whatnot BUT its atmosphere, world design, and story are second to none. I think this game was great and definitely beats out Origins, and due to its replayability slightly edges City although that changes by the day.

One little extra thing doesn’t make it any more of a boss. The one extra thing in the Man-Bat encounter is that you go to his laboratory. It doesn’t make him a boss. Another thing is that he doesn’t have a health bar, further signifying that he isn’t a boss. More of an obstacle or mini boss .

​@@Cytonox I was thrown off when you said: "in all villainy". To me as a giant nerd, I can think of far scarier than Croc, including Black Hand or Doomsday. And that's in DC alone. Also it kinda hurts Croc's scare factor as most people write him as a thug or hired muscle as much or more so as a beast I will admit that. I fucking dreaded going through Croc's lair when I played the game.

Jack here, and yeah obviously a cosmic god with the intent to destroy planets is scarier than a human crocodile, but I meant more in the realism of it. For example, Exitar is too massive in scale to be comprehensive, but a human croc is imaginable and thus just in terms of reality Croc is up at the top.
