I also used to angry hate Ghouls and Ghosts (and also Super Ghouls and Ghosts) but there are a few tricks that help. Every level in both games has a treasure chest to the left of your starting point and activating this first one allows you to get the magic armor (or gold armor) on the second chest which helps a lot. Also, never ever use anything except the lance, knife (and in Ghouls and Ghosts the disk is okay and Super Ghouls and Ghosts the crossbow is probably the best weapon). If you have to get the sword or fire or axe or any of the other weapons just die instead. It's easier to go back to a checkpoint with a good weapon than trying to continue forward with a crappy weapon. These two tricks (along with save states) finally allowed me to explore deeper parts of the game and they're both really, really fun.

This is a really solid collection with some excellent games. Can’t believe you ranked Mercs so low. For me that’s in the top 5 along with MMX, 1944, Captain Commando & Final Fight

Mercs, Captain Commando and Final Fight would all be games I'd run straight to in an arcade to play with a friend. But they're definitely not as fun on a handheld by yourself, and they're certainly no Mega Man!

Blaze should be looking at this collection as the minimum standard all there cartridges should be .

My only concern is that since this collection is tied to the console's firmware, there is a likelihood of Capcom ending the licenses at some point and forcing Evercade to remove the games via firmware update. Why would they otherwise insist so much on not having this collection on a cartridge?

I suspect its the same thing Namco had, where the license is only for handheld and not home console, and it's just easier to do that as a pack in rather than have a separate cartridge line

I'm always bummed by this. I think there are a lot of good games here but I'm just jealous that it's only available on the EXP (combined with the IREM cart this is such a better pack in than the Technos arcade cart which kind of stinks) and I still keep my fingers crossed the VS owners might be able to make a digital purchase but I'm no longer holding my breath.

It's a shame, but most of these games have been released multiple times in other systems over the years, so at least they're not hard to pick up
