Ranking the Classic Sepultura Albums!

1: Arise - Thrash awesomeness! If Puppets and Reign are tier 1, this is tier 2. 2: Chaos A.D. - Front loaded but it sounds great overall. That final verse of "The Hunt" is majestic. (I know it's a cover song) 3: Beneath the Remains - Fantastic songs let down by a thin production. 4: Roots - The parts of Chaos I didn't like are amplified here. Only "Roots, Bloody, Roots" made my greatest hits compilation.

I can't stand Roots, it's so long, no solos, basic nu metal song writing. I lose the will to live before getting to the end. I'd just edge towards Beneath the Remains over Arise as their best. Also reckon their big four albums start with Schizophrenia and end with Chaos AD. Although I lost touch with the band after Roots, I did recently check out Quadra, their most recent album, after I got tickets for a gig on their farewell tour. It's a really good album that's well worth a listen.
