The unovan box legendaries are based of both the ouroboros and Ying and yang. The ouroboros is what inspired reshiram and zekrom design directly, the black one being zekrom and white one being reshiram. The ouroboros represents contradictions which is what ying and yang also represents. Anyhow the reason there called the Tao trio is because there is a little known fact about ying and yang there is a third one the circle that encompasses both things. But once ying and yang is removed the circle(kyurem) is left and can only be filled by one force and it's why we can't have the original dragon as a Legendary pokemon. It's why there my favorite legendary trio(followed by gen 3 legendary trio)

I think you are mistaking the ouroboros with the 2 contraries because the ouroboros is the singular serpent/dragon eating its own tail while the 2 contraries are two dragons eating each other's tails where the white one who represents Sophic Mercury has 2 wings and is more feminine represents reshiram while the black one who represents Sophic Sulfur has four limbs and is more masculine is zekrom when you add in kyurem who represents sophic salt you get the three essentials in alchemy where the sophic salt *freezes* the sophic mercury and sophic sulfur together to get the Philosopher's Stone Lockstin & Gnoggin has a great video about it ill link it kzbin.info/www/bejne/omebl3p7gNKLnqs

Mine has to be the tapus even though they’re not technically trios, each have a single personality that matched with the kahunas and the gods their based on and being based on the 4 gods of hawaii, a chicken of war, a butterfly that shares life, a lazy bull that represents agriculture, rainfall and fertility and a swordfish/marlin that is about the underworld and was able to reunite people with deceased ones and it’s life end journeys, omg the tapus are so awesome.

You said that the Tao trio are the only ones to share the dragon type. That is totally false. Giritina, Palkia, and Dialga also share the dragon typing. The color scheme I can understand. It is kinda bland. But the basis of sharing a type is insignificant. The birds share flying, creation share dragon, Tao share dragon, the lake share psychic, light share psychic, the genies are all flying, and so on. If you don’t like gen 5 then that’s ok I guess, but the argument of all sharing a typing is just lazy. I still love your videos though. Keep up the good work.

I know there are opinions, but damn putting the Regi trio above any other makes 0 sense, they're not great design wise, they suck competitively, they didn't add anything to the story to the point you can completely play their debut games and completely miss them. But everything you mentioned makes me love them. Their simplistic designs are awesome to me and make them look really ancient. The fact that they are a completely optional and mostly hidden thing in Gen 3 makes them feel like a really cool secret. And I loved going through that long “quest” to find them in Emerald, you’re literally exploring deep underwater caverns to uncover ancient creatures. That’s fucking awesome. Maybe it’s nostalgia for me, but I consider them to be one of the greatest trios. Fuck the Genies though

Fun Fact: In the games Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire the ancient world was ravaged by Primal Groudon and Primal Kyorge. Rayquaza beat them both and sent them to slumber. This event stops here. Thousands of years later Primal Groudon and Primal Kyorge wake up and start battle again. The people of Hoenn, knowing the legend of Rayquaza wish for it to appear and save them. This combined with a meteor (a result of the Ultimate Weapon in X and Y) cause Rayquaza to Mega-evolve, at which point Mega-Rayquaza defeats both Primals so thoroughly that they lose their a part of their innate power (Regular Groudon and Kyorge)

I believe that the legendary dogs are actually felines, with Raikou setting the main example. Raikou being obviously a sabertooth tiger, Entei representing a lion & Suicune is supposed to be a cheetah or jaguar or something. I may be mistaken, but I’m quite convinced that Nintendo &/or Gamefreak have officially stated this somewhere.

I know this is your opinion but ranking the legendary birds trio way above tao trio is just dumb. The birds doesn't have deep story in-game. They are basically just powerful Pokemon. Their design are also pretty basic. Their Japanese names are literally only Freezer, Thunder, and Fire. Tao trio is one of the Pokemon with deepest origin plus their in-game legend is really connected to the story
