Sad to see my #1 so low on your list especially since I can tell you have a lot less hate for them than the vagabond. I think the Alliance is nothing short of genius design thematically and gameplay-wise but I do confess that sometimes my first 2-3 turns are basically automatic. Great video!

Great production. To me, the Alliance and the Cult do the best job of expressing how the chosen organization uses power. It’s just that WA is overtuned, and Lizards are undertuned.

I've read the Root RPG corebook and I can tell you this: My favourite faction in terms of lore is the Woodland Alliance but not in terms of mechanics

This all the way, they have some of the best theming in the game and it oozes through their gameplay. I've never played the RPG, but I'd love to check it out eventually 🫣

Once you get into the WA mindset, they’re such an easy faction to play. To the point that it surprises me that WA was listed as a high complexity faction. I love playing them though

I think on paper they are a bit more complicated than Marquise and Eerie, but in actual gameplay they are more straight forward if that makes sense? I'm not really sure either lmfao, I'm glad you enjoy them though! Woodland players tend to be really fun to play against. Thanks for watching!

my first game of root was with the alliance and i won, so i have a soft spot for them. But i agree, they get old pretty quickly and you can get shut down pretty easily if the board coordinates against you
