I love "Strange Phenomena". That being said, I also like your review and your reactions to Kate Bush songs. 😊

Fascinating to hear your comments and ranking! I cannot rank all 13! But for me, the top 3, in no particular order, are The Kick Inside - the chord progressions and the beauty of the song take me to a wonderful place Wuthering Heights - chord progressions, time signtures, the beauty and darkness of the verses - ooh it gets dark, it gets lonely - this is just brilliant Man With the Child in his Eyes - I like the old live versions where she added an extra, repeated stanza before "and here I am again my girl". By the way, it is orchestrated on the album, but this is originally just a voice and a piano, and she nails it!!! I want to hear you jam on Saxophone Song!!

Lovely! We all have our own rankings and reasons, and it’s great to see how everyone ranks their own! I gotta check out that piano vocal version someday. I did some jamming on saxophone song at the end of this video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJOrdmeKoctqgc0 Maybe I should jam on it again sometime

@@BryPazReacts Great solo! I love the texture you included with the reverb. By the way, I provided a link to a live version of Man w/child in his eyes around the same time in the comments.

Excellent, that was well-constructed. The Beatles influence on Kite and Them Heavy People I had never considered before but I get what you hear, it's the sound of one of Paul's old grannie-bashers, as John liked to call them, his Ob-La-Di's and When I'm 64's (they were vital to the Beatles' broad appeal, not knocking them) Like others I was surprised at the Kick Inside's place, but like others my upvote would be on account of the tragedy more than the music. I couldn't rate them all, though I think The Man With The Child In His Eyes would top my list, I can't describe how out-of-this-world that sounded in 1978, like nothing else, and as it came out in the summer it still has that bright warm feel to me, Wuthering Heights came out early in the year, I think I first saw it in February, and we had a lot of snow that year, so whenever I see her on the windy moor I shiver, cos she must have! Overall It obviously made an impact at the time, but musically it is her simplest album, though she always keeps a place for just her and the piano, things get much busier and more layered from here. The joy in this album is that this is where the spring waters burst forth onto the Alpine meadow, pure and clear, untouched by her own success. Hope you enjoy your journey down the waters of Kate Bush.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed, and Thanks for sharing how you connect with the music. Music seems to take us back in time to fonder memories. And with this journey, now I’ll be forming my own memories on the way!

Nicely done and presented. Thanks. But the title track at number 11???? That would be my number 1 for sure. But then I’m a sucker for a tragic piano ballad. And my god that’s got some tragedy! BTW - I just discovered a video for that on KZbin. I think it’s from a German TV programme. You should check it out. And keep doing these reactions man. They’re brilliant. I can’t wait for you to get to The Dreaming….

The top 5 I agree with but I'd would put Them heavy people in at six.

13. Room for Life 12. LAmour Looks 11. Cold Gun Lyrics are subpar or at least do not fit with rest of record. Melodies are great on 13 and 11 and production great on 12 and 11 10. Strange Phenom 9. O 2.B N Love 8. Kick Inside Great songs just not my favorites. Love the horn synth break in 9. Lyrics in 8 are chilling and amazing. 7. Sax Song 6. Moving 5. Kite 4. Feel It 3. Heavy People 2. Child in His Eyes 1. W. Heughts Ranking these seems random almost. 4 is a lost gem that needs a remake an octave lower. 3 has her best lines on the album "every one of us has a heaven inside" and "don't need no crystal ball/no call (sic) for a magic wand/we humans got it all/WE perform the miracles" Besides capturing some kick ass points of view, her lyrics are peppered with internel rhymes and unexpected rhythmic twists. It spills into her music acheivig a unique harmony even when the music delivered isn'f

Feel It, The Kick Inside and Kite may be underrated here. And James and the Cold Gun is good but not near the top 5 for me. The single version of The Man with the Child in His Eyes has a different opening, I wonder if you prefer that or not.

Is that the one where she goes “he’s here” in the intro?
