The off season prior to season 6 was called 'The Scholarship' and followed A Troupe (plus some soon-to-be familiar faces) as they auditioned for the Stacy Carpenter scholarship award. Summer won it, as revealed in season 6, episode 1, but who should have ACTUALLY won? I analysed each audition and in line with what Stacy said she was looking for, decided whether or not Summer was the rightful winner.

Lots of people are saying things like 'worth being late to online school' and 'watching this before school' and while I very much appreciate that, PLEASE don't be late. We're all in this together atm and teachers have had it tough too, so please show them appreciation and respect by turning up on time and engaging in their lessons. Turning physical classes into online classes isn't easy on anyone and trust me, it's hard to still make them interesting and challenging. Okay there's your pep talk for the day, go try your hardest, give your teachers a smile, and make sure you thank them 😊

I always thought Amy's solo for he scholarship deserved so much better because it was beautiful. Piper's solo were gorgeous as well and I think she embodied their emotion really well. In terms of technique, I think Jacquie's solo was amazing as well (they were all amazing but those 3 stood out to me).

Going off of Noah being near the bottom, I remember first watching the scholarships and wondering why he was even there. His audition felt pretty short, and it was like the writers just had to put him there because he was on a-troupe.

I think it was purely so he could say about him wanting things after TNS and foreshadowing him leaving. Considering he literally went to auditions during s6 though, it would've been nice to see him take it a bit more seriously, you know?

Various valid points! I like them. Except, Lily. I didn’t see the humility Stacey asked for. She did it with a different perspective and she explained it well, yes. However, it can also implicate that question: can she be humble? Or she just dodges the emotion with an emotion in her comfort zone? That’s my thought :-) Otherwise, keep up the videos!

Very true! It's either bad or good, which is why it was a toughy! I think Stacy liked her interpretation though as she didn't seem annoyed that she wasn't showing humility, she seemed to like the surprise

Piper is my favorite dancer although I agree Amy should have won the scholarship. I initially actually watched season 6 of The Next Step before any other season because it was the only one on Netflix, and Piper was the one that really captured my attention in that season and I just couldn't take my eyes off her when she danced. I personally think she is one of the best dancers on TNS and I loved her scholarship audition.

Imo lily didn't interpret the brief, she saw it and was kinda like, "well that's nice but no" it's kinda disrespectful. Especially since Stacey knew lily prior to the audition. She wanted to challenge lily with something polar opposite from her usual style. There was no need for lily to "prove her personality" if u know what I mean :)
