I was watching Maleficient and I went to the bathroom and girls who had watched fault in our stars were in there crying. Meanwhile, I thought John Green intended it all to be satire because “okay? okay”…HOW IS THAT NOT SATIRE? Part of me still believes it was satire and he’s in too deep and too nice to tell his dedicated fan base of dramatic preteens that he meant everything ironically to critique teenage dramatics lol.

I graduated high school in 2012 and I had way too much time on my hands, so naturally I spent it all on the Internet. All of those events are way too ingrained in my brain. Loki edited to look like he's singing Call Me Maybe is what comes to my mind immediately when I think of 2012 Tumblr and is a core memory for me. I truly miss early 2010s KZbin, just people sitting in front of their cameras, talking, physically showing things they are talking about, not stressed out about YT algorithm. I know channels like that still very much exist, but chances of us coming across them are extremely slim. Okay, but What Does the Fox Say seriously ruled though. Such a banger and just so inoffensive.

honestly i was reflecting on Miley in the early 2010s and like..... the twerking and wearing revealing outfits were really not a big deal, especially when you consider that she was in her early 20s, like there are a ton of people in their early 20s who experiment with sexuality and stuff like that so it was completely okay for her to do that..... I don't know if "the times were different" or if it was just conservative moms complaining who made everyone think it was not okay but.... for a young person in her early 20s it was completely normal to act as if she's not 14 anymore, idk

Taylor was in a snowmobile accident and it was rumored that Harry was the one driving it or he was with her when she got in the accident. The accident and that it was with an ex is confirmed, we just don’t know which one, but then out of the woods came out so that’s why people think it was Harry.

As someone who loves Vlogbrothers content, I have to agree with you about John Green lol. When I was 14, I literally read TFiOS 4 TIMES because I thought it was amazing. I received the Croatian language edition when I was in college and wanted to practice my Croatian reading with it, but I couldn't get more than a few chapters in before I died of cringe. That was the same year Turtles All the Way Down came out and after reading that I realized his books were never good. Love his videos and podcast, but his writing is a no from me (Hank's books are incredible, though!)

It’s not that, you just grew up. Those are YA books. I can’t read almost anything today that I read when I was 14. We change, we grow up. It’s like saying children’s cartoons are bad.
