Absolutely obesssed with the Pentel Energel 0.5 mm (specifically the Pentel Energel Clena 0.5 mm in Pink) It dries quickly, doesn't smear, smudge, or skip, and the pen body even looks pretty! It's even affordable! HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE THERES LITERALLY NO CONS

The ENERGEL is superior to everything. It writes smoothly, no skips, instantly dries, and it highlights immediately with my mildliners (even the sarasa mark on takes at least 3 seconds). The energel is the OTP and you can't change my mind.

I like the Uni-Ball One, but my fave is honestly the Energel Clena in 0.4 :D Sometimes when I write with the Uni-Ball One, it does the grooving/train tracks thing that I know most people gripe about with ballpoint pens

My favorite will be Zebra Sarasa Vintage! Because I like the appearance so I'm happy everytime I see myself using an aesthetic pen lol 😂 They also write well and got my favorite brown ink in their line up

I have a couple of uniball one pens, and I don't really like them. The body is really nice to look at, and I like the clip, but the pen is a bit scratchy to write with, the pen feels a little too light in the hand, and the ink is a little scrabbly and feathery - the grip is really hard too. I really want the jetstream to come out in other ink colours -- especially brown. The Jetstream writes beautifully, but I want to write in brown. At the time of writing, I'm using an energel noir, which is nice, but... Uni please!

My top 3. 1. Pilot Juice 0.5 2. Zebra Sarasa 0.5 3. Papermate Inkjoy Gel 0.5 Personally, I didn't like the Uniball One. I like the design, but writing with it feels scratchy. I think it needs a specific type of paper to get the best out of it.

Juice Up is really lovely! The Uniball one works really nicely on Japanese paper. I didn't like how they wrote at first until I tried them on Japanese paper, and the WHOLE experience changed!! I love your top three. I would rank the same. I have all of them in multiple different sets.

I had to take Chemistry last semester, and the professor only allowed us to use pen to fill out our lab books. The FriXion was a life saver. I was able to erase mistakes quickly while my classmates had to use white out.

I ❤❤❤ the FriXion line by Pilot! I had the synergy for a while and also the standard ones that can come in a rainbow set at .7. Once I got some of the Knock Zone a couple months ago, it changed a lot! It writes a lot smoother and a lot darker in the black ink!

In my experience the uni ball one tends to have pretty awful ink flow with a lot of railroading and skipping. Jetstream on the other hand writes flawlessly. Love the 0.7 of that.

So happy the Bic Gelocity got brought up. It’s my favorite. The Bic Gelocity Shield is a Gelocity variant that has the same refill, but a better body. I don’t like the grip on the regular ones. I really don’t like Uni ball. So it’s funny that the ONE is her favorite, and she doesn’t like the Gelocity. I think both are pretty similar.

I 💜the purple Pentel Energel 0.7 needletip with violet ink. It's the first pen i've ever gone to the trouble of buying refills for, & I finally did because i use it so much i had to keep buying more! I love how smooth it is, i love the purple, but I value the utter lack of skips above all else. 100% no skips until you're down to the last dregs of ink. It's my #1 work pen and nothing i've tried has bested it. I'm also a big fan of the gelly roll Moonlight line.

I tried the uniball signo and I hated it 😅 it just takes forever to dry and has a shine! I hate the shine. That’s why it took forever for me to try the uniball one, I kinda expected the exact same experience. I’m happy to inform that it has become a favourite of mine and the UniBall One F (mint) now lives in my pencase. My ride or die for years has been the Pentel Energel, I still love it and I still have it in my pencase. But now in a UniBall One P (Yogurt) body 😂 I do wonder what she does to break a page with it, because I am a heavy handed writer and I have never ever had that issue 😅

I own probably every brand of gel pen made in some form and I do love the BIC Gelocity pens. I also use and love the Zebra Doodlerz; they are some of the juiciest gel pens I've ever used. Also any gel pen in a 1.0mm or larger point is my jam.

I prefer Pilot Juice 0.38 and Sarasa Clip and Sarasa Vintage 0.5. These all write smoothly and consistently for me, and I am happy to use them 🙂 I have found that unfortunately Uniball Ones have inconsistent ink delivery, and there’s something about the Energel writing experience that I don’t care for, but not sure if it’s the needle tip or some other factor.

I love collecting black pens and generally lean towards 0.5mm. My absolute favorite is the Sarasa R 0.5 Black, deep dark and smooth. Uniball One Black is darker but it just doesn't write as well in my opinion. Signo DX is a really nice smooth writer. I'm not a needlepoint enjoyer either, def don't like the regular Hi-Tec-C but their discontinued Maica write really nice. I'm not sure what I like for quick drying more but they're both good options, Sarasa Dry & Pentel Energel! I might just be a Uniball One hater 'cause when it comes to color I'd probably pick the Signo DX but not too far behind would be Sarasa.

My favorite is Pentel Energel. I particularly love the blue black one. Uni Ball Signo has always felt scratchy for me, and I think it skips a lot. However, here in Brazil, some Japanese pens are hard to find and they are very expensive to import, so I think my knowledge of them is a bit limited!😅

pilot g2 is a staple for me since it always works. the energel clena is a dream, but the regular energel just does not write for me. the uni one is the love of my life but i prefer the colorful ones because the black one is a little dull. and the uniball signo dx gorgeous but not the regular uniball signo. the kokuyo vividry is pretty underrated, i like it when i’m patient enough to avoid smearing it everywhere.

Uniball singo. The original one without the grip. I love the way it writes, I like the cheap bic style of the body profile, and it's sturdy. I don't like grips because I tend to choke up while writing and they can get sticky and gross with age. I have an aluminum energel body for work. Sturdy for when i drop it repeatedly, almost every refill fits it, and the threads on the body being further back from the tip of the barrel means it actually survives my aggressive stim clicking. Lol i break sarasas like nobody's business!

My top gel pens are zebra sarasa, muji and uniball one. In 0.4 or 0.5 they are perfect. I like the pentel energel but not as much as the others. Pilot does fountain pens and ballpoints better than gel pens in my opinion. BIC is cheap and a ok pen for school but later in life not in my pencil case! Suggestion: same type or video for ballpoints?

I got a uniball one f series pen thinking i would love it but it turned out to be very awkward to hold and the ink flow is inconsistent if you are not heavy handed 😢 i usually prefer pens that are heavier/ have thicker barrels because they help my very tight grip but this one was a big dissappointment

I like Uni Ball signo RT1. My grip is very low so it’s important for me to not have a strange transition, as the bic had in this video. And rt1 has a rubber grip, which I prefer. Plus I can get it in 0.38, which is smooth and thin for my tiny handwriting. 0.28 was too scratchy, though.

While BIC isn't so big on design sometimes, some of my all time favourites are BIC. It's just the type of pen that, no matter what, delivers every single time. Then, small barrel ones, like the Sakura? No thanks. Big hand here, small barrel is horrible for me. Pilot it's okay. Uni-Ball is another trusty friend .

I do have to write with my Rays gelpen still, but for smoothness/saturation I tend to stick with Uni One/ Signo A-gel. Marking use cases I use Sarasa Mark-on refill in a Airfit grip pen body. S-Gel 0,5 writes nice as well tbf. The Energel BLN 2005/2007 is the pen body I tend to like best

I've always liked JetPens content but this really came across as quite snooty. Disliking a brand because it's not good enough in your eyes but has served millions of people seems to be oozing privilege and snobbishness. There was no real attempt to see the good and the bad in any of these products. The Pilot Hi Tec C for instance looks like it good be for engineers or technical applications but the reviewer literally would not have a clue about that. The only JetPens video (after many years of watching) that I left half way.

I like mr pen gel pens. For $4 i get a 10 pack off of Amazon but the quality is high for the cheap price. The colors are so nice. I do wish the orange was a darker orange color, but it works for me for now. I can't afford the other brands. I have uniball one pens that i bought a long time ago and i love those, but my orange color dried out so quick. I also don't like how they write anymore.

I love a Uniball One, and I'm good with needlepoint, but I think the .03 is too scratchy - which is sad, because I have a LOT of .03 I bought in so many colors... :( My daily driver lately has been a medium point TUL, which I think is about a .05 and the ink is very smooth. But I've also used Energel refills in it and those work very nicely too - there's something about the grip on those pens that's really nice, even those it's just a straight line pen.

BIC isn't American. It's a French company. The BIC pens sold in the US are made in France or Mexico. Some in Dollar Tree are made in Tunisia.

My first gel pen was the Pentel Milky pens way way way back. I am also a Uni Stan for their Vision Elite... but damn it if I haven't bought a bunch of Pilot FriXion gel pens for my planner. Currently using the Synergy Knock version. Uni RE pens were such a disappointment, they say they are a rollerball too but they suck. They do erase as well as the Pilot though. Very scratchy and yuk

It’s funny you say you don’t like needlepoints cause you’re picky I’m also picky, but that’s why I love the hi-tec-c, and specifically in .25 😂😂 my handwriting is microscopic, so stuff like that or the pentel energel in .38 is usually what I want I also tend to not like light colored pen barrels, or slimmer ones, so we’re just like constantly at odds hahaha. It’s either black or metal for me. At least when it comes to gel pens. I got different rules for fountain pens pft I like wider pens since I have severe arthritis 😭😭

Sadly, every Hi-Tec-C gel pen I've bought skips and dries out after a few weeks. I love the Energel Clenas in .05, but the dark blue .04 keeps falling apart. I've had to throw out two of the bodies, and I love the dark blue.

I have many favorites. Unlike Ann I 💙 needle tips better than conical. One thing that really does bug me though is that several of these pens don't have refills (all the colors) & if they happen to they only have black. This is one reason I'm not hyped about UniBall. It's so wasteful.

I like my pens either like writing with a boxcutter (extra fine fountain pens or finelines) or literally a brush (bristle brushpens) and nothing in between, 0.7 pens feel disgusting to be for some reason, and if I’m using a ballpen or rollerball and it skips, I might as well just throw it in the trash.

Pilot G2 is just the best. Nice, thick line, and writes very smooth. The only drawback is that the ink doesn't dry as quickly as others.

that's usually the drawbacks of gel pens. thinner point sizes usually do the trick
