Flash Flood in the Paria River, Sept 9th, 2014

The Paria River in Southern Utah flash flooding after moisture from the remnants of hurricane Norbert dumped heavy rains north of the area. Peak flows hit about ~1,500 cubic feet per second. This is a popular hike that leads into a slot canyon, check your forecasts before going in!

Never get tired of watching your videos. We had 5 inches of rain in my neighborhood, ( Phoenix ). The wash next to my house looked pretty much like this. Maybe it will form a slot canyon, that would be great :).

rankinstudio Yeah, except you still get to live in Utah. I am a native Arizonan and love my state, but Utah, man I love visiting there, Gods country for sure. The most beautiful and diverse place on earth, IMHO. Thanks again for the video.

Wow I hiked the gorge 23 years ago at age 30,it was so beyond incredible,a trip of a lifetime..the river averaged ankle deep except buckskin!!!!!!!!! So WOW wee.it has very limited access(2000 people a year), and yes there's qwick sand areas.
