When I was younger I had these Pokemon vhs tapes. All of the Pokemen and I watched them all the time. There were like several commercials at the end of the tapes that played consistently with each tape. Every single tape had the same damn commercials. One was 'Simba the White Lion' or something, one was for the Gameboy Pokemon color games and one was this old anime movie. I remember the lines for that commercial being 'it was a normal day. . . before I wound up getting kidnapped!' Anyway, that's not important. The strange anime commercial had an AMAZING song that played in the background and I kept looping that same commercial over and over to hear the song. For years, since I was in elementary school, I've tried to find the song but because the lyrics were in another language I couldn't ask around, yo! Well, ha! Now, Junior year, I found that rocking song and I'm so happy. I never thought I'd find it. My life is so complete, you don't even know.

I used to see a trailer for this movie all the time when I watched Pokemon tapes as a kid but never actually got to watch Ranma 1/2 because I could never find it anywhere. I've recently gotten into the Ranma 1/2 anime and am currently on the 4th season and I fucking love it! It's such a fun series so far and I'm glad they put a trailer for the movie at the end of the Pokemon tapes because otherwise I may have never checked out Ranma 1/2.

Having major childhood flashbacks here, i always liked seeing the trailer for this movie (along with the ones for the 1989 Kimba remake series and Dog of Flanders) on my Pokemon season 1 VHS tapes which i wached all the time. Like so many others here this is where i was first introduced to the world of Ranma and friends before even i saw a second of the show itself years later.

I first learned of Ranma before I knew what Pokemon was bc my parents bought us a video game from the pawnshop and it was Ranma ½ Hard Battle for SNES. I didn't know what Ranma was back then either (nor anime), but I loved that game and the characters and the booklet for it hd some miniature scenes from the manga. I used to draw little comics based on the characters, but with my own ideas (basically fan fiction lol). My step dad traded it in though bc he thought it was a stupid game, and I forgot about it until 5tg grade when my sibs and I got into pokemon and I saw these trailers at the end of the videos they bought us and I was like "WOW! IT'S THAT GAME I USED TO HAVE!!" haha. They bought us pokemon comic books too that had ads for Ranma box sets (they were expensive) and I wanted them SO BAD! Lol come 6th grade and we're all past pokemon and my mom rented me episode 1&2 (both on one VHS tape) from Hollywood Video as a surprise for me! I got so entangled in Ranma again (plus there was boobies lol). The next day she decided to check it out on her own and took it back immediately and got onto me for not telling her there was nudity :/ I didn't see or think of it again until my first year in the army; a buddy of mine had the whole box set and the movies! I saw "Big Trouble", but tht was it. Fast forward to 2017/18, I was living in a halfway house in FL, bored ASF scrolling through Hulu and I found it! The whole series! I binged it and watched all the movies and OVAs on youtube too... It was like an itch I had for almost 30 years that I finally got to scratch. I was never really _big_ big into anime, but I loved me some pokemon as a kid and DBZ as a preteen... But Ranma, Ranma always stuck with me :)
