Ace Hardware is awesome but ya gotta respect Danny "Dr. Roadkill" Thompson, his song writing, guitar style and memorable riffs are, IMHO, the reason this band has been as successful as it has all these years.

Do ALL the band members live off the band? A late-to-the-party punk band with some out of print records on defunct micro indie, Toxic Shock, that most people aren't sure still exist much less ever had the chance to see them play live is not the picture most people have of a "successful" band. Look at all the comments they get on KZbin half of them are people saying they never got to see them. They've been around nearly 30 years and collectively their fans' most common complaint is they've never been to their town. Nearly 30 years with only 5 LPs to show for it. What makes them a "successful" band in your opinion? The fact they've been around since the mid 80's? Stubborn longevity is why they're successful? Bands who live off their music alone are successful. Sloppy Seconds is just old.

One of my favorite bands to see live!!! I used to go to the Emerson Theater almost every weekend, never missed a Sloppy show! The Hodge Podge and Sloppypalooza daze were so much fun

Feeling the same, they were the first concert I ever went to in 93. It's strange to think of how long ago that was. All the weird shit they would play on the movie screen at the Emerson changed my life. That place felt like a second home for years. I'm glad it's still there, even if the music is mostly lame these days. Damn Kids and their hot topic!
