Hey guys! Sorry for the delayed video this week. There’s lots of wonderful things happening in our lives right now and our schedule broke down since we have a new member of the family to tend to. Last Monday, the 25th, our much longed for daughter Vera was born! We are so happy! :-)

I spent 28 yrs. active duty from 62-91. My last ship was 378' and had a crew of 135 men. Now the ships are larger. Have a great year in 2020.

Johan says, I could see myself on that crew of the coastguard ship. Malin says ,as captain,and not as a question. As beautiful as she is pregnant,her beauty in how she supports her husband and places him second to none, is wonderful to see. Johan exhibits the same devotion towards Malin. A sarcastic thank you as I am trying to diet. Loved the Coast Guard vessel! In Grand Haven, Michigan, USA they have a Coast Guard Festival each year. Grand Haven has one of the many Coast Guard stations on the Great Lakes, Lake Michigan. They do search and rescue, immigration and drug interdiction, navigational equipment maintenance and the ice breakers of course maintain passageways though the ice in the winter. My oldest son tried to join the US Coast Guard Reserve several years ago but they had no openings. I found out that the Reserves fill in when a crew member is on leave. They train one weekend a month also. They are well respected on the lakes.

Thanks a bunch for this video! In the early 90's I worked offshore in the Gulf of Mexico building pipeline and setting production platforms. We had a barge/ship that had thrusters on it that it used to maintain its position. This kind of stuff is very interesting to me. If I had my life to do over again, I might choose a career that kept me out on the water in something like this.

Nice personalized tour of your country's Coast Guard ship!! Not often that gets to happen with the public so that was an awesome invite from your viewers. Your city and ours does not seem much different - we're using our old buildings for breweries and lofts and restaurants. Food trucks, food festivals - yum! So many places to choose to eat! Before my retirement this past June, I was the procurement manager for the steel group at Ingalls Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington-Ingalls Industries, located in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Ingalls is currently building destroyers, two amphibious classes, and cutters for the US Coast Guard. Watching your video of the Swedish vessel brought back many memories of my days working at Ingalls. I've been aboard all the classes of ships built at the shipyard and was lucky to go on sea trials aboard the USS Arlington, LPD 24, an amphibious assault ship. Your tour guide mentioned positive pressure environments, which are standard about US Naval warships. They're necessary in case of chemical or nuclear warfare. I postponed watching this, but I shouldn't have, what an impressive ship. I always loved watching them when they were in my port, Humboldt Bay. They used to have very impressive HF SW Antenna;s and I wish I had gotten photos of them ! Not so much on the ship, but at the station.I've been eating a lot of meat lately so your vegi tofu thing looked great !
