RANT: YouTube's Dark Patterns, Hasbro is a Shameful Cyberbully, & My Tool-Assisted Speedrun

I spent two hours fighting off just this one wave of claims, so I had to record a rant to vent a little and retain some amount of sanity.

Clearly it's time to program a computer-vision based automated system for filling these forms out that can see your screen so it can recognise things like the possibility for different options (like "Trim" and "Appeal") and figures out the correct options to chose. Optimise the tool-assistance, haha. Or, y'know, KZbin could have a mass-appeal option, like you say. But that would be too easy.

I mean, you probably can write a browser extension that reads the page content. And whatever you tell it to look out for and what to fill it with, that could speed up the process greatly

I don't agree with this process at all given what actually happens with it, but I consider content claims are kind of a lesser evil in most cases. Only because legal copyright and trademark laws are bad and made for exploitation. Copyright lasts for something of a hundred and fifty years -- eight times longer than a patent in the US, and any content not licensed is basically free riding or harmful to products or profit and courts will virtually allways rule with the company especially in a company controlled state like the US. Parody for entertainment or satire is not fair use, it's defamation, and using content while not licensed is illegal under copyright. A single dispute legally can cost tens of thousands of dollars minimum as a base cost. In the days of yore, only large companies could produce and distribute content because people could not distribute anything to billions of people for free or mostly free so this was a non issue since companies were monopolies and choose to serve how they wanted. Companies want their walled gardens and copyright laws are to their entire advantage, hence I consider what KZbin does to be scummy since it's a pain to dispute, but also because it's a protection for people against the actual copyright laws that would lead to life debt potentially. Odds are if they did not make it as bold face annoying and unautomatable as it is, the actual companies screwing with people on the platform would complain and take Alphabet/KZbin to court over it.

ok regarding the "appeal" or "trim/appeal" options you get, could you make it auto-click on the spot where "appeal" appears when the trim option *is* present, try and proceed, and then do it again where it isn't? It appears that that area of the screen is empty on the following screen, so by some clever macro-ing you could get it to try both options without screwing anything up for either scenario. Perhaps the email copy/pasting part could also be automated? Dunno. Sucks that you have to go through this, but youtube hates users doing anything on-mass.

There are better ways to automate, like with Selenium. if you want I could probably create an automation that you could dump in emails and get out appeals.

It‘s really sad that this can happen, but I feel like this is not really hasbro‘s fault. They are a business and they do everything they can to make money. This on is really on youtube. They have to come up with a process that gives both sides a fair chance to prevail.
