Yep. At the time the likes of Rants and Andy Tate tried to dismiss it as a freak result that wasn't going to have any consequences. It wasn't a freak result as it was something like the 10th time Utd had been hammered in the past 2.5 years or so, and it once again highlighted a serious mentality issue at the club. You can't just dismiss a 7-0 defeat to your biggest rival, your biggest defeat to them in 100 years and try to brush it under the carpet. Ten Hag and the players have never been the same since. It's obvious he's lost his sense of judgement and the players have lost their confidence in him and themselves.

I agree with everything Rants says, apart from about Garnacho. The kid is still a teenager and always looks the most likely player to actually do something. Also, with Hojlund, he has been thrown under the bus. He has not scored enough goals, but anyone playing up front for us would struggle. He should never have been put in this position. He should have been signed as a backup striker and learned his trade over the next couple of years.

My only hope for Garnacho (who is far from being a wonder kid) is that a coach will teach him how to make good decisions. Then he might become a decent squad player. Antony is probably the only winger who starts facing his man, and ends up facing the touchline.🤷🏾‍♂️ Its impossible to have any structure with Bruno running everywhere. At one point he was running down the right wing to receive the ball, when Amad was trying to run there and was pointing to Bruno to go inside (where he should be) then eventually had to run into the middle himself because Bruno has no tactical awareness

@@cashmontoks I said squad player. I say that because when you look at city (who are the bench mark) you never know what's gona start, but what you do know is that there will be quality. As for him being out best forward. He probably is output-wise, however that doesn't make him that good, as the rest aren't. This is typical of how people view football now aswel which is based on stats. He's too young to make my final decision on, hence I feel with coaching he can become better. As he does have some good attributes, and seems a good mentality (although he needs to humble himself a little bit) But if I was to judge him right now.. he makes the wrong decision so many times. Rarely beats his man, finds his man in the box, gets pushed off the ball, misses a lot of chances.

Which in his case will be when to try beat a man, and when to pass, get his head up etc... similar to Doku. I think he's a cut below having that exceptional ability though like dare I say Greenwood, probably put mainoo in there too.

Garnacho is our best forward currently, but that’s only because Sancho has been exiled and Martial has been sick/injured. If you look at Sancho he played well for us, just barely any G/A

Pretty sad when the fans know what the Manager is doing and the reason and KNOWS it was a mistake. Mctominay for Mainoo was exactly what the host stated. The other problem is that statistically, the Teams leading scorer was coming on for the new kid. And that fact, Mctominay being the top goals scorer, coupled with the fact ONLY BURNLEY AND SHEFFIELD UNITED have scored less, is damning. Think of it this way, United finished 8th in the league in the previous season and the Owners , Arnold and Murtough decided against moving heaven and earth for Harry Kane and settled for a 20 year old 9 goal scorer to solve their goal scoring problem. That's right, United spent 64mil upfront money to go from 8th in the league in scoring to 18 in the league. Now....that's money well spent isn't it.

It starts with the lack of quality goals scorers this team has and has been missing for 10 years. Where once the names were Cantano, Cole , Van Nistleroy, etc. The last 10 years have seen the likes of Falcao, Cavani, Igahlo, Wengthorst and now Hojlund. The fanbase are sold the assumption that if Kane had been at United he too would have been starved of goals because of the midfield. One needs to understand the impact of a world class goal scorer, especially someone like kane, who has the ability to provide assist as well as goals.Not to mention taking the focus off of others like Rashford and Garnacho. Teams would have had to play United differently with a WC goal scorer. Having the best midfield in the league wouldn't make Antony a better goal scorer, nor Rashford, nor Garnacho. A player of Kane's ability isn't as reliant on the midfield as say a Haaland would. Look at it another way, if United had spend 120 mil for Kane and nothing else, they would have been better off at this stage. They have 22 goals in 20 games. Kane , in the Bundesliga, has 22 in 14 games with 7assist.
