It’s poor form leaking it like that day before the cup final but Utd have to be actively seeking an alternative though with other big clubs in the race for coaches as well. ETH has made it so easy for them to sack him though. Worst ever position league finish, -1 GD and no sign of improving his philosophy. Had he just been a bit more pragmatic (like he decided to do for last 2 games of the season) especially given the injuries we’ve had I think no fans would be calling for him to be sacked and INEOS would have had to give him another season. Then again, who’s to say if Ten Hag qualified for Europa league they still would have sacked him so they can make their own appointment who knows? Next manager that comes in has to be weary of this second season blip ex Man Utd managers have. With our new approach to buying young players, the set up could well suit Pochettinho although do we trust Poch going up against the likes of Arteta and Guardiola and can he do it? Tuchel probably can and would probably get us top 4 next season but will he be able to make Man Utd champions from there? He’s the most qualified candidate no doubt but definitely not the yes man INEOS are looking for.

Overall I'm not surprised just disappointed. I wanted the new manager to have a structure in place to fall back on instead of rushing everything but it is what it is. The core of this current squad was never here long term, Cas gone, Varane gone, Bruno or Rash gone, CR7 was finished already, Shaw should be gone (on standards of a 'big club'). AWB/Maguire/Lindelof/Eriksen/Mctom etc should all be out the door. I don't think people understand how trash this squad is overall. ETH was just the latest fall guy, nothing new at Utd.
