It's one of the saddest things in music. If he'd lived, they could have created a tradition of swapping in members with new facepaint schemes and evolved like that forever. Instead, they went no facepaint after that, then lived off the occasional "final reunion" shows with the original crew. Carr could have created a "Kiss forever" thing if he hadn't passed so suddenly.

You got to understand, back when KISS first came out in the mid 70s, we had never seen anything like them before! The older generation, our parents, were scared to death and just were convinced that kiss stood for Knights In Satan’s Service, which it doesn’t, but the parents were sure that we were all just going to hell if we listened to KISS

I'm writing this as you do your rant at the end, but, yeah Kiss is one of the legendary bands for a reason and this video was made early 80s before they took off the makeup and let people see their actual face. The part at the end was meant to represent the fans love the band and follow them and then it showed the band with glowing eyes so they follow the fans too and keep doing what they do so it's a vicious cycle of them doing what they do for the fans and the fans following them for what they do! But, Kiss has always loved that vicious cycle and always wanted to perform and entertain! They finally got inducted into the rock n roll hall of fame after multiple times almost making it because people always said I think they're amazing and deserve honor just not on this list but they definitely deserve it! I think they was almost in the hall of fame 8 times I could be wrong but it was a lot more times they almost made it than anybody else. Anyway, great band and one of the true legends and always good stuff!!!

You’ve noticed a paradigm that started in the late 90’s. As record labels became incredibly wealthy the way to be as wealthy as possible is to monopolize if possible. So richer ones bought poorer ones. The next problem was how to gain more sources of revenue: buyers (fans). To do that they had to get rid of the divide between genres, that ushered in crossovers between Rock, Country, Rap, Funk and Jazz. Since most fans worship individual musicians, the key is to make the most identifiable member of a band (lead singer) as the only one that matters. Then have them work with other singers from different genres. The end result is to homogenize music as much as possible so as to eliminate how many musicians you have to pay to work for you and promote. That’s why identifiable bands are all-but gone and unknown musicians are given paltry rates of pay for working on tracks, but few ever go on tours. Also, computers with good software cost even less than people… and never want to be paid fairly. And it’s working pretty well.

Aluminum neck & headstock design, which made it a little "neck-heavy" for Gene's stage moves; switching to having Jackson Guitars make the next version eliminated that issue. Kramer made the Axe available to the public in 1980. They didn't sell too well, with "about 175" as basses and only 25 as a guitar version. It was actually a real NYC gang and the guitar player (with the silver makeup) Ace Frehley was a member of that gang. Another bit of trivia... He was not on this album. He had quit the band but did the video because he hadn't been officially replaced yet. That's why they don't show him much. If you ant to do a really cool KISS related reaction, Paul Stanley (the one who sings I Was made for Lovin' You) just did a soul album. The first official video is O-O-H Child. It is awesome!
