Us Jinjer fans recommend one having the lyrics available when reacting. Tatiana is a gifted writer. She was actually educated to be a teacher and has a University Degree in Russian/Literature. She has been writing Poetry and drawing/painting since a child. She is extremely talented. Then you learn that the amazing drummer , Vlad , is actually a Classically trained Pianist and moonlights playing drums. \m/

@@NTN_Lex I wasn't referring to "lyric vids". Those are lame for Jinjer. Simply have the lyrics pulled up from another source and available for you to read while listening to vids or live performances. Doing so isn't considered " cheating". Not for Jinjer fans. We want new listeners to understand the lyrical content. That is the "message" after all. \m/

I’ve been a metalhead since middle school (decades at this point). I used to be a metal critic/journalist. Still, I’ve never heard anything quite like Jinjer. I met them last year...and they’re so kind. Tatiana is so shy too. I really believe they’re opening people up to metal who never would’ve liked it before.

I think part of it is how eclectic they are in general. They pull from so many styles themselves that it's hard to just refer to them as "metalcore" or "prog metal" or "djent" even though they hit all those bases at some point. Part of it is also the more modern phenomenon of genre dying. Country/hip-hop melding together, rock/rap have been crossing over since the 90's. I wonder if hip-hop's ascendance to the mainstream coupled with its sample culture (which causes to inevitably pull in elements of jazz, soul, R&B, and rock from the very beginning is part of this. There's also the internet allowing the desegregation of music (instead of being isolated on genre-ghetto radio stations). As someone with really eclectic tastes myself, I do really like that element of modern music culture. I also think Jinjer is at the peak of that stylistic wave, as artists.

My song of the year 2019. Tremendous. And it never gets old. It's interesting to watch folks who aren't used to this kind of compositional complexity extending themselves on first listen to this, given the super-proggy, angular, timings. All 4 of them display such a high level of technical excellence without losing the soul of the piece, & with so many different textures.... this song is a musical *achievement* imho! :)

Another great reaction Bro. Yeah Tati is something special as well as the guys, they are phenomenal musicians. Jinjer is the first band in a long time that I instantly fell in love with, and I've been a metal head for over 40 years. As far as female "growlers" go, there are several out there, Alyssa from Arch Enemy, and Courtney from Spiritbox are popular and they are great, but for me Tati is the best, but of course this is my opinion. Anyhow bro, enjoy your Jinjer journey and as always, stay Metal. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🎶🎶🎶🎶

Ya, that was a shout out to Pink Floyd, you weren't hearing things. Try "Pit of Consciousness" next as it's a song about a descent into mental illness. If you're interested in other female growlers, check out Arch Enemy's "Eagle Flies Alone" kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5upYqWjiLtkmq8 This is not a common suggestion for a reaction as she is not known as a growler, but Floor Jansen as guest vocalist cranks it up with Soilwork's Björn Strid in "Let this River Flow" kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6q7c2p5d5t3o7c She rarely uses this technique with her current band Nightwish, but like Tatiana, she can turn it on and off from one note to the next. Take a look at power metal as well with Canada's Unleash the Archers. They just dropped "Soulbound" yesterday: kzbin.info/www/bejne/laqpeWCFZZqoiZI This song is part of a continuing story that started with the previous album "Apex" so it's like picking up a book and starting to read it at chapter 15, but it's a good introduction to power metal. Brittney Slayes, the lead vocalist, doesn't uses growls (she may be capable though), but her power metal screams are epic.

Be warned, this song is intense out of the gates, a wall of sound. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5-1fqqmqciad9E Lacuna Coil - Reckless. Cristina is another amazing vocalist. This band has both a male and female vocalist, they work well together. Check it out kzbin.info/www/bejne/eHbFYpeKa5elosU Halestorm - I Am The Fire. Lzzy has a wicked rock voice, so very powerful. Amazing live performances where she sings with out vocalists. Here's one of their songs I dig. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpnOnqiKq9CjldU Devilskin - Voices.
