Im glad to see the review. I know for a fact that the people at Rapala and me along the rest Rapalas prostaff have worked for a long time on this bait. The Rapala BX Brat has been a work in progress for 4.5 years and it has been perfected for hook ups and action and is still being modified. If you have any tips for Rapala let me know so we can help perfect this bait to its maximum performance.

ben sitton thank you so much Ben for the comment. The bait color schemes is always something that can be added. One thing I would love to see is a slightly larger version of the bait with the two different diving depths. Other then that I’ve been real happy with the two I bought so far.

Bass Hole we are in the process of makeing a bigger BX bait we are in the percess of texting the performance of it. We can not seem to get the larger ones to run the same action as the smaller ones. But Rapala will be doing a alternative bait to replace the big BX baits i am not permitted to say anything more about these upcoming baits in public due to a contract i am in with Rapala. I will mention the tip about the color to them but im not sure what will happen. Rapala is a very simple but yet complex business if that makes since 😂😂.

Just ran across this review myself. I’ve been speed crankin the BX Brats in both 3’ and 6’ for a while. Caught more 3+ pound fish on them this year than the last 2 years combined. Pearl Grey Shiner and Silver are money in the fall transition when bass get on bait balls. The green and red craw patterns are great in summer and winter/pre spawn respectively. I do upgrade the small VMC hooks tho. Thats really my only qualm with these cranks. I think the hooks are a tad too small. I upgrade them to Owner ST-35 short shank #4s on these baits. They flat catch fish.

Also a great example why I quit using straight flouro too. Its too finicky for anything but straight open water fishing IMO. Its great line, but best used as leader material for me.

Next you should review the bx minnow wich dives a bit deeper than the bx shad, I want the red perch color, but both look fire jointed rapala lures are my favorite no dobt, I did purchase a larger lure, the bx swimmer which has less action it was so beautiful it looked like a peice of art especially the balsa, and the holographic eyes, I had the silver color with olive on top I loved it, I caught my pb bass of 2022 on that bad boy then lost it at a spillway... I highly recommend the bx swimmer everything I caught on it was large... I just wish it had a bit more action it swims kinda subtle but worth the money 💰 the bx shad is first on my list though for 2022... I love shallow divers myself...

I fish some real deep steep banks lakes. I like the bigger square bills. The Strike King 8.0 most of the time. My favorite deep square bill that maintains a small body but still dives deep is the Luck-E-Strike Freak.

One thing that bugs me about these lures is for the price you pay, they dont contain any sort of rattle inside. Im from Europe so a lot of the waters i fish are often quite stained or murky so to not have a rattle it becomes that bit less effective. Rapala are always priced at the higher end of the scale compared to their competitors so its rather strange
