When a woman walks in the streets in the midnight, then only it means that we acheived full independence to our country" as Mahatma Gandhi once said and how shamelessly we have ridiculed it.
In a country where women have been adored for years here we are yet again standing on this stage to raise this ugly face of our society once again. One might say rape is motivated by sex or violence but the truth is rape destroys the humanity in one and the human in victim. Forcing someone into a sexual act is as humiliating as terrifying as one may think.
For years women all around the world have been sobbing in the corners of their houses and nothing has changed.
Bringing barriers by law has become another strand in this ugly mess.
While the whole world is perfectly as before, a girl was raped yesterday. Will she survive the night? But hey! Who cares? We will go light a candle tomorrow and the rapist will go merrily under juvenile sections, read newspapers, talk on radioshows and wait for another victim to be from homes.
सूरज है जग का बुझा-बुझा,
