Not everything gets solved with "then just dont buy it so they get the message". That's not how it works. The problem with this franchise is that it lacks marketing. It's fine that it's niche, but it's way too niche to be getting a "tournament" these days. It's almost always the same competitors one year after the other, just to give an example.

Usually the announcement for events gets delayed because of something simple like one contract negotiation between the venue or insurance or something stupid. I've seen it happen so many times organizing events.

Man, this absolutely sucks. I'm not QC player but I stumbled upon the tourney last year and it was amazing. I enjoyed watching it more than any sport stream ever before. I was really looking forward to QuakeCon this year hoping to watch it again. My naive ass even put it in the calendar.

it's been dead since release, the fact that the servers are still up is a miracle. QC barely breaks 500 players peak. a lot of other games with more potential and players get nothing from their devs.

Id software once again made the worst decisions regarding the Quake franchise, Quake Champions failed to retain players with very bad or non existent onboarding for new comers, performance was bad, lacking core features, no marketing. I just wish for id software to make a new Quake game from scratch in id Tech, at this point it would have been almost 20 years without a single mainline Quake game from them, they always give it to third party studios to make it. But ultimately I think at this point the series should go back to singleplayer and them possibly try a MP one later.

It wasnt ID who mainly worked on QC though. It was mainly Saber-tech with a few ID software employees. Sabertech abandoned the game after some point after a year or so after it was released to the public (back when it was early access) and the few remaining ID tech employees remained. Now the game is worked on like by what?.. 3 people? Its a shame what bathesda did by letting a bunch of console-exclusive devs work on an game with an spaghetti coded in-house engine (that is non-ID Tech) work on an ID-IP game. The game had so much potential but the greed of Bathesda got in the way and decided to abandon.

Не трясись ты так, хейтерок Агентовский, никто Рафу не забанит, потому что Рафа - это адекватный состоявшийся профессионал высшего уровня, который в 30+ лет умеет себя прилично вести в публичном пространстве. В отличие от всяких второсортных "непризнанных гениев", которые за 15 лет игры в квейк не сумели войти в топ3 Ни На Одном серьёзном турнире, и из-за этого по кд извергают из себя фонтаны грязи и известной коричневой субстанции Ограничения игроков из СНГ это тупо политика в связи с событиями 22 года, Рафа тут вообще ни при чём. Конечно же очень неприятно что Сайфера с Базой кикнули из Quake Pro League (Куллер не считается, т.к. последние пару лет играл в QC откровенно слабовато) - но такова жизнь, иногда "щит хэппенс" Что касается "проезда", Рафа за свою профессиональную карьеру заработал $340к (в отличие от "непризнанных гениев" из, скажем, какой-нибудь Калуги). И если Рафа сильно захочет - то приедет на КуКон хоть за свой счёт
