I wouldn't blame him. I mean, nobody is able to start playing Quake now and surpass someone like rapha who's been playing since the original Quake 3 or Quake Live. We just can't. Tho idk when did k1llsen start Quake. Either way you get my point. I don't think it's possible to reach someone who has several years of experience ahead of you, and who still learns non-stop and practices as much as everyone if not more.

@@hissatsu4937 Last week he lost one round to SIB. Yes, SIB! People are hyping k1llsen and he's really good for sure but at least half of that win streak was an absolute challenge for him. He almost lost on multiple occasions too. Earlier this season he got a 2-1 against Raisy which was 1.5000001 - 1.4999999 in reality. I think their moods on the day of the match play a huge role.

Great to see Rapha admit how Match 2 could have gone quite differently. It serves the game well to have such great players playing. It's just a shame not more people appreciate how good a competitive game this is to watch. I'm not good enough a player to enjoy playing but watching good players is a blast.

hopefully rapha can stay interested long enough to win another one. i think he's definitely burnt out on the sport, but it's still worth his time financially, even though these guys don't make jack squad sadly, even including sponsor deals and such. having QuakeCon in person this year should help motivate him to stay sharp. k1llsen also likely burnt on the game.

He's using doom slayer and Doom slayer has a passive called double jump. He's the only champion that can do this.

Note NA/EU/NA server. Rapha is abusing the shit out of that, and now he's moved to EU to remove the reverse chance for the last matches, to improve his seed. That is not fair. Not everyone can pay to win like that. Apart from that, clearly K1llsen laughed at the aim percentages the game gave him. In this matchup. Not in a rematch on equal ping, or in a rematch on LAN (because QC unlike predecessors doesn't have that in 2023). Rapha is doing everything to make sure "well played average spam" wins. And so is Bethesda. Texas is a great county, isn't it? Hail Texas! :)

Before you comment, Rapha clearly doesn't think Texas or Bethesda are awesome. Also, he moved from Texas. To ensure maximum bullshit for his opponents, and maximum unfairness in match play. ;) It's so clear, why does no-one see it? I mean it's logical: tournaments are no longer LAN, so those who can afford to or want to or are desperate enough to, just move to maximize the advantage. If the game is bad or good or average and you meet each player twice and 20% aim vs 60% one time and the reverse second time, all is good. Not so in the league, only once. Only by moving, this unfairness is maximized. Let's fly to Texas every couple weeks! (It's a great county BTW ;))

@@swozzares Right, I'm not saying it's entertaining or professional; but at the same time this isn't football/etc. One map in Quake isn't the same as 10 minutes in any other organized sport, so that's not a real comparison. I think it was last season that SIB got tilted/gave up quite early in some matches. Honestly I would much rather have someone admit defeat and move on to a new map (once it's impossible to win) instead of seeing garbage play like SIB did in those matches. Understandably, that's a personal opinion so I don't expect others to agree. One thing I'm not sure I understand is how the fans pay Quake players' wages? If you're talking about their private twitch channels, then sure. But unless all of these matches happen on LAN with paid admission/tickets, none of us are paying any of these guys to play. We tune in for free on KZbin or Twitch.

@@tehlloyd That match was incredible, and yes there are the super rare gems and comebacks that can happen. I doubt the same would've been possible for k1llsen with the champion matchup and stronghold that ralpha had. As for your last point; I don't think this reflects negatively on Quake or eSports. If anything, it reflects poorly on k1llsen as an individual, as it was quite clear he wasn't fully in it / got tilted way too hard (just watch his player cam).
