I started reading comments before I started watching the video... I know better now! I'm a musician/singer, Saddiq is one my favorite, not to mention one of the best (legendary) musicians/writers/composers of all time. To some of my friends who get sort of frustrated at the ignorance of people who don't know about music, it's ok... You can't expect them to comment like they understand or get it. Just ignore them and give the props you wanted to give, because you're not gonna stop it.

To be honest for him to even try to bring out the greatness that was Shalamar is some ballzy sh#t. Howard Hewett is such a prolific singer with amazing range. It would be like someone trying to do a tribute for Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston. People can try but it always pales in comparison to the real thing. And yes as a lead singer I would put Howard Hewett in the same class as Whitney and Mariah. He is that good. He just never caught a break to get to the level of other amazing singers.
