I played with a lefty QB after only playing with right handed QBs. It takes about a week or so to get used to catching passes with the ball spinning the opposite way.

Disappointed that you guys totally write off Minchey as though he is a non factor. Looking back at both QBs each is a unanimous 4 star Minchey grading out as a 93 and Carr a 95. Minchey ranked 5 in the 2022 Elite 11. CJ Carr ranked 4 in the 2023 comp. Both are high caliber. Writing Minchey off as if it’s a forgone conclusion in my opinion demonstrates obvious bias rather than looking at evaluations and performance overtime. Let it play out gentlemen.

Minchey's problem isn't talent. It's the depth of talent at ND and I never thought I'd utter those words since we're so used to 5'11" QBs with mid tier arms.

@@diggingmystyle but you are confirming my point. You just assessed it as “Minchey’s problem”. Why isn’t it all of the QB’s problem or challenge. Yes it’s a tough room. But he’s the guy that is seemingly always pushed to the rear of the discussion, when from a ranking standpoint coming into campus he and Carr are ranked roughly the same and both higher ranked than Angelo. Yet Kenny is the “guy that’s going to transfer” because … 🤔. I just think a lot of folks are pre-judging based on what their personal biases are versus letting them compete for the position on the field.

@@82slice I agree with you, and if you are not aware of it, you would no doubt be pleased to know two other regular casts with highly knowledgeable sports regulars (whose day jobs are with one of the majors in sports) and insider-guests, both highlighted Minchey as the likely benefactor of something these guys here are blindspotting. Denbrock. Denbrock's scheme, which everyone knows will be THE scheme, favors a mobile QB, and a young redshirt with jitter, and time to develop under one of the considered top QB coaches in CFB (Guidulgi) is more likely to get additional consideration and chances to play than a more polished NFL-style pocket guy. Minchey is not only internally considered the shiftier of the two, he is considered the more dangerous running threat (and has proven this) in scrimmage. Listen, these guys are right that Carr is the more ready to play day for day, but even though everyone is learning the new scheme at the same time, fortune (Denbrock) favors the mobile (Minchey).

The audio clips of Knight are practically unintelligible. (Though I did hear him say “We” when referring to the ND/USC game!) Between his drawl (not a complaint!!) but combine that with all the background noise, and music… can barely hear a thing he says. As for the Guidulgi question, the recruiting insider from Locked on Irish ( His name escapes me at the moment) has said that Gino is THE #1 reason that Deuce is Irish. If Gino leaves at any point for any reason, it will be extremely difficult to hold onto Knight.

Gino is not leaving. ND will pay to keep him if that's MF's wish.

@Willie_McBride You're talking about Brian Smith, a truly valuable resource and staight talker - when he can be - ... Since Smith gets around, that 'LO Irish' cast is not the only cast he mentioned that item on, but it is often the one he is on earliest when new information comes to light, or Wojciak riddles it out of him - as a "Locked On" fixture, go figure that's the order... For the record, I agree absolutely that a Guidulgi move soon would be a problem UNLESS, Guidulgi was moving to the NFL, and there was an equal or superior replacement, determined early. I think most people knowledgeable about recruitment since '21 would find the replacement list to be pretty rarified, but given that current QB stable, and its heirs apparent, it is highly unlikely that the sky would NOT be the limit for what HCMF would want to keep his momentum there going.
