Love these little snapshots you do on tactics. Hope the message gets out there and your subs build up. 👍👍

I used to do this in warthunder lol, although it was probably a lot easier to pull off.

Quite nifty and something that's deffo useful! I need to get back into the Fiddy. Used to fly it a lot in the past.

Hi can you please test vikhr in DCS against planes? War Thunder modeled these so they can shoot down jet in all aspects flying 800km/h. Curious how they are modeled in proper simulator.
@homoerot03 Жыл бұрын
i think the problem is tracking the plane with your laser...limited range, and if it is in range you will have problems following it, and it will move out of range again, max is maybe 14km in perfect conditions...

Missed playing this one. BTW, what joystick do you use? Once my computrr is rea-assembled again, I'll play it again

I use the thrustmaster T16000M

Do you have to manually slew the sight to each subsequent target, or can you "offset track" or otherwise pre-load #s 2, 3, etc. so that you don't have to manually slew the track over?

Manual track like a boss.

You can save each target to your abris vis datalink, then dl ingress to target to “snap” to the next target

Auto turn makes absolutely no difference here. The helicopter will only turn after you've stopped moving the Shkval, so after both missiles have already been fired.

I should clarify, it will help when you are initially lining up the targets. Thanks for watching!

Seen people doing this with Apkws and was wondering if works with vikhr.

Yeah it’s tricky but feasible.

can you do the same with Su25T ?

I assume? The closure rate will be difficult to overcome. Check out my video on ripple Fire Mavericks from a harrier as it’s mostly the same concept.

Yes. Try approaching as slow as possible with flaps down even with your TVV (that you don't have on your HUD, just guesstimate) on the targets. It's possible to put 4 missiles on them per pass that way, but it's tricky. 2 is not that hard though.

Ripple......?
@CasmoTV4 жыл бұрын
Webster defines this as the firing of rockets (or missiles) in quick succession. In modern US attack helicopter vernacular it’s the process of launching multiple munitions against multiple targets. Thanks for watching.

@@CasmoTV I do like your video, but I believe you are incorrect in using the term "Ripple Firing" to describe it. Also your comment states "In modern US attack helicopter vernacular it’s the process of launching multiple munitions against multiple targets." I don't know where you got that definition from, but that's NOT what "ripple firing" means at all, as it certainly has nothing to do with the number of targets. For example: the A10A cockpit has 2 dials labelled "Ripple Quantity" and "Ripple Interval". This sets the quantity for a rapid release of several munitions as a result of a single trigger input, and the timing between the releases. In milliseconds. For bombs or rockets, not guided missiles. But even aside from the type of munition, your video shows something entirely different than that. You are merely manually firing a second time after 5 seconds (not automatically, and not very "quick") and then moving the laser after the first hit such that #2 hits a second target. Here is an example of 3 separate 10-rocket ripples in one attack run: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h2e7fIyDm8-mmNk

@@Darrylx444 You know Casmo used to fly Kiowas and Apaches, right? Like, for real, and not just in a sim...

@@chucku.farley5093 No, but so what? That doesn't explain the apparent contradiction in terminology between the activity shown in his video versus the documented real-life weapon system release modes in the A-10A and many other real military aircraft. Did Fairchild Republic make a huge mistake back in 1976? I don't think so, but there are many other examples too: The LAU-61C/A rocket pod has a ripple firing mode (19 rounds/sec), details below. Also below is an example of a real-life F-16 pilot (Meteor) explaining a ripple bomb release the exact same way: "Spacing on ripple release is measured in milliseconds. The chances of you being quick enough to release the button in the middle of a ripple release is infinitesimal." Some IRL A-10A selector photos are also linked: "RIP QTY, RIP INTVL, RIP PRS, RIP SGL". So rather than just assuming CasmoTV is automatically right strictly because of who you think he is versus who you think I am, I would prefer to just discuss the facts.
